Trapped in Paradise (In a Hentai World, as a Trap)

Chapter Vol. 1 Ch. 98

Chapter 098: A Sense of Security

Why is it like this?

Ning Chu tossed and turned in bed, unable to comprehend what was happening in her mind.

Back when she was still a man, she might not have been the most self-assured, but she was independent, right? So why did everything change after she arrived in this world?

She started lacking a sense of security, struggling to fall asleep every night, easily startled by the slightest noise. She had become sensitive and fragile, constantly anxious about her surroundings and the people around her.

She couldn’t even travel alone. Tonight, she had planned to leave in one decisive move, but within half an hour, Wen Yang had coaxed her into coming back, tail between her legs.

Now that she hadn’t left in a burst of impulse, she might never muster the courage to do so again.

Why is that?

She shouldn’t be this socially anxious to the extreme.

Is it because this is a world out of a cheesy novel? Because of this unfamiliar, frail female body? Or was she always like this, only before she had no choice but to rely on herself?

Ning Chu lay there with her eyes wide open, staring into the darkness of the dormitory, unable to sleep.

She couldn’t understand her own anxiety, and she was even more confused as to why she felt an automatic sense of joy whenever Wen Yang appeared, why her anxiety would dissipate, and why a strong sense of security would fill her heart.

It happened at the amusement park, and it happened again tonight.

It doesn’t make sense! Wen Yang is dangerous!

“Still not asleep?” Wen Yang asked, noticing the movement of the bed frame and hearing Ning Chu’s restless shifting.

“Mm, I can’t sleep.”

Ning Chu closed her eyes, trying to push aside the confusion from earlier.

But while she managed to temporarily set aside her confusion, the sense of impending danger resurfaced.

What if Wen Yang sneaks into my bed in the middle of the night and...?

She suddenly felt wide awake, lifting her head slightly to stare intently at Wen Yang, who was lying opposite her.

Seeing no movement from Wen Yang, she let out a tired sigh and lay back down, her chaotic thoughts forming a tangled mess in her mind, keeping her wide awake.

Too much had happened today...

In the morning, Yan Xinya had dragged her into the plot; at noon, she had convinced Wen Yang to call the police; by the evening, she had turned into a woman and fainted from the emotional stress, ending up in the hospital.

I’ve really become a woman...

Her future, which had already been shrouded in darkness, now seemed even more devoid of light.

Ning Chu pulled the corners of her mouth into a bitter smile, turning onto her side and curling up into a ball.

In the quiet night, Wen Yang also lay awake.

He lay there, thinking about Ning Chu’s behavior today.

In the morning, she had been her usual self, stopping him from talking to girls. At noon, she had placed her trust and confidence in him, encouraging him to stand up for Yan Xinya. But by evening, she had suddenly changed her tune, insisting on leaving and becoming wary of him.

Women really are the most incomprehensible creatures.

Wen Yang sighed softly, about to close his eyes to sleep, when he suddenly felt the bed frame trembling slightly.

He didn’t move, just listened closely to the sounds in the dorm.

Ning Chu was crying...

The suppressed, faint sounds of her sobs nearly broke his heart.

The trembling of the bed frame grew stronger, her sobs intensifying, mingling with short gasps and sniffles.

Wen Yang couldn’t take it anymore.

He sat up abruptly, and just as he did, Ning Chu’s crying stopped in an instant.

“...”

He had wanted to wrap his arms around Ning Chu’s frail shoulders and offer her some comfort, but she had stopped crying at that moment.

Wen Yang scratched his head and lay back down.

...

Ning Chu was awakened by Zhang Shaoqing’s loud voice.

She opened her swollen eyes, her blurry vision fixing on the ceiling light as she tried to remember how she had fallen asleep last night.

Rubbing the corners of her eyes, she sat up, but the fatigue from the night before hadn’t left her body.

“Awake?”

Ning Chu turned her head to look down and saw Wen Yang trying to fit her suitcase back into the wardrobe.

“But...”

“If you really wanted to leave, you would’ve done it last night without looking back. Since you came back, it means you don’t really want to leave, right?” Wen Yang looked up, smiling gently as he gave her an out. “Let’s just say I’m asking you to stay, okay?”

Ning Chu pressed her lips together, turning her gaze away from Wen Yang’s warm face.

“Hey! Ning Chu!” Zhang Shaoqing, grinning as usual, didn’t mention last night’s events. “Didn’t you and Wen Yang get the counselor caught? Does that mean we’re without a counselor now?”

“The school will probably assign a new one, right?”

“Damn it! Quick, get out the registration form for the sports meet! Take my name off it!”

“Take mine off too!” Wang Jie called out, toothbrush in hand as he stood by the balcony.

Wen Yang shook his head helplessly. “What’s the big deal about the sports meet? It’s not like you’re going to prison.”

Watching the lively banter in the dorm, Ning Chu pulled her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on them as she silently observed their antics.

She still wanted to run away, but the courage and impulse to do so had run out the night before.

It’s fine; Wen Yang is still a virgin.@@novelbin@@

Even though he now knows her true gender and probably likes her, he’s still too timid and shy.

All things considered, Wen Yang isn’t that dangerous.

Maybe in the meantime, she could work on building up her inner strength, making her heart stronger and more secure, and getting used to going out alone without panicking every time she was by herself.

Main Quest: Practice going out alone more often to rebuild a strong sense of inner security!

Side Quest: Keep Wen Yang a virgin to buy time for the main quest!

“It’s almost time for class. Get up.” Wen Yang was already putting on his shoes. “Ning Chu, we’ve got gym class this afternoon. Are you going?”

“Yeah, my stomach feels a bit better.”

Ning Chu slowly climbed down from the bunk bed.

She intended to go to the bathroom as usual, but as she entered, she remembered the sanitary pad.

Closing the door behind her, she muttered in frustration, “How do I change this... Do I have to go to the public restroom?”

Seeing the brand-new, freshly installed internal feature again, Ning Chu’s breath hitched, and her heart tensed.

Even after a whole night had passed, it still felt like a dream.

But it was real.

She still didn’t dare look at it or touch it. After using the toilet, she hastily wiped herself with some tissue and hurriedly pulled up her pants. Then she took out a band-aid from her pocket to smooth down the protrusion on her chest.

The one consolation was that although she had fully transformed into a girl, it seemed that apart from changing how she used the toilet, her life wouldn’t be too drastically affected.

As long as her chest stayed small and cute...

“I’ll try messing with the plot again today to see if the punishment has changed.”

Ning Chu muttered as she opened the door, stepping aside as Wang Jie hurried past her into the bathroom.

She was about to head to the sink when she heard Wang Jie’s puzzled voice from inside. “Ning Chu, why does the bathroom smell kind of fishy?”

“It’s been like that since last night. The smell’s pretty strong.”

“...”

Ning Chu’s face turned bright red, and she nervously avoided answering.
