Chapter Vol. 1 Ch. 96
Chapter 096: It's Time to Go
One day, the protagonist returns to the dormitory to use the bathroom, only to stumble upon a girl taking a shower. The protagonist, being a seasoned and cunning character, immediately takes advantage of the situation, easily overpowering the girl, who quickly succumbs without much resistance.@@novelbin@@
The next part of the story describes how the girl, who is living in the boys' dormitory, secretly engages in a small encounter with the protagonist late at night. After the protagonist falls asleep from exhaustion, the girl sneaks out to clean up in the bathroom, only to be caught by the antagonist.
The antagonist, driven by a strong desire for revenge after the protagonist had previously taken something precious from him, coerces the girl into submission.
And so... begins a twisted life where the girl finds herself caught between two men, experiencing a dark, twisted version of happiness.
Ning Chu sighed as she finished rereading this part of the storyline. She placed her phone face down on the desk, her expression dark and brooding.
In truth, she believed that, given Wen Yang's current personality as a shy and inexperienced virgin, even if he caught her in the bathroom trying to relieve herself, he would likely just flee in embarrassment.
Moreover, Lingling hadn’t yet made any moves to push Wen Yang, and Zhang Shaoqing didn’t seem to have any real desire for revenge against him. In fact, the two of them got along pretty well.
Staying wasn’t entirely out of the question.
But that would mean handing over her fate to Wen Yang and Zhang Shaoqing, leaving her at their mercy.
That sense of insecurity...
In this situation, it was better to assume the worst.
“Ning Chu, what do you want from the barbecue?” Zhang Shaoqing came up behind her, handing her his phone. “We’ve all placed our orders. Take a look and pick what you want—tonight’s on me!”
“Why do you look so down?”
Ning Chu pressed her lips together, avoiding Zhang Shaoqing’s gaze.
“Come on, don’t tease her.” Wen Yang, returning from the balcony, threw an arm around Zhang Shaoqing’s shoulder, pulling him aside. “We’ll grab some drinks later. Ning Chu, want to join us?”
“I don’t drink.”
“You don’t seem to be in a great mood... but okay, never mind.” Wen Yang scratched his head, smiling bitterly.
He had noticed the wariness and reluctance in Ning Chu’s eyes, which made him a little uncomfortable. But considering she had just revealed her true gender and was still living in the boys’ dormitory, her caution was understandable.
But why was a girl living in the boys' dormitory in the first place?
And for two whole months, hiding it so well that he almost fell for the deception.
“Wen Yang, I’m going home tonight.”
“Huh?”
For a moment, all three of her dorm mates turned to look at her.
Ning Chu lowered her head, facing away from them, and quietly explained, “I mentioned over the weekend that something came up at home. Today, my family asked me to come back.”
“I’ve already bought my ticket. I’ll leave as soon as I pack.”
In reality, she planned to book a single room at a nearby hotel. Leaving the campus late at night, even if she intended to run away, wasn’t exactly safe.
Wen Yang’s heart sank. He stared at Ning Chu’s frail back, instinctively trying to persuade her to stay. “Can’t it wait until the weekend? What’s the point of going back now?”
“Can you cover for me tomorrow? I’ll be back soon,” Ning Chu said, still facing away from them, trying to justify her sudden decision. “It’s urgent—something serious happened at home. I didn’t even have time to officially request leave.”
“...”
Hearing no response from her roommates, she hesitated, unable to suppress her growing sense of reluctance. She added, “Keep an eye on Wen Yang while I’m gone. Those pretty girls are always after him, trying to trick him. Don’t let me come back to find he’s become a player with girls on each arm...”
Somewhere along the way, Ning Chu had begun to see them as friends, as close comrades.
She worried that if she left, the shy, inexperienced Wen Yang might turn into a womanizer, that the mischievous Zhang Shaoqing might become a full-fledged villain, and that the honest Wang Jie might lose his innocence.
“Shaoqing, stop bullying Wang Jie all the time. He’s honest and doesn’t bother you, so don’t drag him to those shady bars and corrupt him.”
“You... don’t you like cats? Take care of Hei Dou for me, and stop pining over your childhood sweetheart. There’s always a better match out there for you.”
Her emotions getting the better of her, Ning Chu found herself saying too much. Fearing she might make them worry, she turned back with a bright smile. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back tomorrow night!”
“...”
Wen Yang froze, staring at Ning Chu’s smile. To him, it was like watching a flower about to wilt in a storm.
He glanced at Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie, who exchanged puzzled looks.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” Wen Yang said, giving them a meaningful look.
“I’m going out for a smoke.”
“I... I’m going to look at the stars.”
Each of them found a flimsy excuse, heading out to the balcony one after the other. As soon as the door was closed, they huddled together.
The thin door didn’t do much to block out their voices.
“Wait a minute! Why does it sound like Ning Chu isn’t planning on coming back? Was that a goodbye speech?”
“This is your fault! You’ve been bullying her too much!”
“Hey! Wang Jie, that’s not fair!”
“Let’s not argue. We need to talk this through...”
Ning Chu glanced back at the balcony, where the three of them were already starting to bicker.
Having said everything she needed to, Ning Chu felt a weight lift from her shoulders. She stretched, stood up, and opened her closet, pulling out her suitcase.
The suitcase was already packed with a few sets of clothes. In case of an emergency, she could leave immediately.
But tonight, there was no rush.
Laptop, toothbrush, towel, power bank, charging cables...
After packing everything, there was still some space left in the suitcase.
Ning Chu crouched down, lifting her head to take the small stuffed toy Wen Yang had won at the amusement park from her desk.
One will do. There’s no room for more.
“Knock, knock, knock—delivery!”
She quickly stood up and ran to the door, taking the delivery inside. She called out to the balcony, “Come on in, it’s time to eat!”
“I told you I’m not drinking. Why’d you still get alcohol?”
Ning Chu busied herself setting up the small table in the dormitory as her three roommates returned to the room.
“I’ll head out after we eat,” she said, pulling up a chair and sitting down. “I’m not drinking, and you guys shouldn’t drink too much either. We have class tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Wen Yang sat beside her, letting out a heavy sigh. “I won’t drink tonight either. I have to head out later.”
“!!!”
Ning Chu immediately turned to him, her eyes full of accusation.
“No, it’s not what you think. I... an old high school friend asked me to play games all night.”
Oh, great~
I haven’t even left yet, and you’re already planning something! What if I was gone already?
She couldn’t help but think to herself, This is why you’re the protagonist. Leave you alone for a second, and some seductress comes in to take advantage!
Instinctively, she protested, “No way! You’re not going!”
But then, she caught herself and, feeling despondent, turned her head away. “Never mind, do what you want.”
What do you think?
