Chapter 33
Chapter 33
I was genuinely pleased that Darcy had confided in me about his abilities. It was proof that he trusted me.
There had been a part of me that worried whether the bond we had formed in such a short time was fragile, something that could disappear at any moment. I had told myself that we couldn’t get too close because he was someone who would eventually leave.
But things were different now. He had said that he wanted me to be happy.
I was happy that he cared so much about me. I was glad that Darcy, of all people, was the one who cared this deeply.
In turn, I found myself wanting to know more about him.
Why wasn’t he a main character in the original story? How exactly did my words save him? There were still so many unanswered questions.
“How exactly does the brainwashing work?”
“You have to call the person’s true name and make eye contact. My magic is just a bonus.”
I was surprised by how quickly he answered.@@novelbin@@
I blinked in astonishment as Darcy raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms.
“So, you should be careful about making eye contact with me in the future.”
“…I don’t think that will be necessary.”
Knowing Darcy’s abilities didn’t change anything. He was still the same person to me as when we first met.
My feelings toward him, from the beginning until now, had always been sincere.
It would be a lie to say I wasn’t at all afraid, but I didn’t want his abilities to drive a wedge between us.
He shrugged at my response.
What do you think?
