Ryan couldn’t understand what Kyes was saying.
Magic stones had existed long before he was born. Even if they weren’t yet commercialized, using them was a natural part of life.
Kyes, however, insisted that magic stones would disappear. Ryan couldn’t grasp where this certainty was coming from.
“If we squeeze the captured mages hard enough, we might be able to create something even better than what that bastard made….”

The fact that Kyes was left in such a vulnerable position was suspicious. There could be eyes watching them even now. The conversation needed to be quick and efficient.
“Then I will contact the Marquis of Ephecl.”
It wasn’t an unusual task since they had already maintained contact due to Reshuan.
If the Marquis knew that magic stones were in danger of running out, he would likely be willing to help.
Kyes smiled in satisfaction at Ryan’s obedient response. After a brief silence, he added another instruction.
“There’s one more thing you need to do.”
