I glared at him and said, “I meant separate beds.”

“But what can I do? I wanted to see your expression while we talk.”

“What exactly are you planning to talk about?”

Even before hearing it, I felt a sudden fear. Would I be able to keep my expression under control?

“It’s nothing serious. Just….”

Darcy’s lips curved into a smile.

“Just know that I’m telling you this because I trust you.”

His words completely disarmed my suspicions.

A conversation that can only happen because we trust each other. The tension I had been holding onto loosened.

In the end, I mirrored him, lying on my side to face Darcy.

The bed was larger than a king-size, so there was some distance between us, but we were still looking at each other on the same bed.

“We have plenty of time to talk, so I’ll go slowly. But first, today…”

One of his hands moved towards his eye.

“Shall I start by showing you my real eyes?”

Show me his real eyes? I couldn’t quite grasp what he meant.

Lying beside me, Darcy lifted his hand and removed something from his eye.

When I looked up at him again, I froze at the sight of his changed eye color.@@novelbin@@

His eyes now shimmered with a mix of red and blue, creating a mysterious glow. He swept his hair back and blinked, asking, the faint smile gone from his lips.

“Do these look like a curse to you?”
