Chapter 82 Orchard Family Tent
"Lady Yin, you are correct my son's funeral is more important; however, I am willing to bear my son's eternal hatred as long as I can find even one clue behind his death." Wang Ming replied solemnly.
Yin Yanming nodded with a sympathetic expression, "It must have been hard to make such a decision."
"It was." Wang Ming nodded before continuing, "If you'll excuse me, Lady Yin, I wish to continue investigating."
"Of course, go right ahead."
After saying a few goodbyes to the others who were similarly Ranked as him, he went back to his tent.
Once Wang Ming's figure disappeared into his tent, Yin Yanming smiled at the others and spoke, "What a caring father, don't you all think so as well?"
"Indeed Lady Yin, Clan Head Wang is truly a role model for all fathers in existence."
"As a father, I am truly ashamed of my inferiority. If only I could treat my children like he does with his."
However, despite the two Mages' words and the others who nodded in agreement, their faces held a disdainful smirk.
Wang Ming could fool others, but they knew his character well enough. However, they did not expose him to the public, since it would only do them more harm than good.
Only Yin Yanming could profit from leaking the information due to her Mana King Realm strength and terrifying background.
Meanwhile, after three hours, the golden carriage carrying Lucian, Lily, and Fenwick, came to a halt. The middle-aged driver stepped down and opened the door for them with a respectful bow.
"We have arrived at Moon Grove Forest, Your Excellencies." He said with utmost respect.
Lucian nodded and stepped down from the carriage with Lily and Fenwick.
"Thank you for your service," Fenwick said and handed the carriage driver an extra five copper coins as a token of appreciation.
"Thank you, Your Excellency." The carriage driver bowed again to Fenwick.
"Mr. Driver, are you sure this is the right place? How can this be called a forest?" Lily asked, pointing at the open field.
"Miss, I can guarantee with my lowly life that this is indeed the Moon Grove Forest. Although it is now an open field, I have traveled this road many times and know it well." The carriage driver hastily replied with confidence in his tone.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Let's ask one of the people already here," Lucian suggested even though, he knew this was the Moon Grove Forest, or at least it once was.
"Lily will ask," Lily said and looked around for a nice person she could ask.
After a single sweep of her eyes, her eyes stopped on a Rabbit-Kin woman.
"Lily found a nice person. Let's ask her." Lily pointed at a Rabbit-Kin woman sitting on a log and then approached her.
"Thank you for the ride," Lucian said to the driver and followed Lily with Fenwick beside him.
As they approached the Rabbit-Kin woman, she looked up at them curiously.
"May I help you?" She politely asked them with a tilt of her head causing her rabbit ears to flop to the side.
"Excuse us." Lily said with a friendly smile and continued, "But can you tell us if this is actually the Moon Grove Forest?"
The Rabbit-Kin woman nodded, "Yes, as shocking as it is, this is the Moon Grove Forest. As for what it's now called, I'm not too sure because I only just arrived here."
"Hmmm, then do you know of a person called Garrett?"
Hearing the name 'Garrett' the Rabbit-Kin woman's eyebrows creased since the name sounded familiar. Soon her eyes widened, "D-Do you mean Sir Garrett from Lion's Liver?"
Lily frowned at her weird reaction. However, she still asked, "Mm, do you know where we can find him?"
The Rabbit-Kin woman smiled bitterly and pointed in the distance, where a luxurious white tent embroidered with a golden tree was heavily surrounded by guards.
"If you are looking for Sir Garrett, he is in that tent. However, I don't recommend trying to visit him." She shook her head.
"Why can't Lil-" But before she could finish her sentence, Fenwick hurriedly interrupted her, "Miss, thank you for the information. We will be leaving now."
Then, he dragged Lily toward the tent, followed by Lucian.
When the Rabbit-Kin woman saw where they were going, she shook her head. "I told them not to go there. But alas, haah."
"Some people just like to court death." A chubby young Human man sitting on a chair beside a tent said.
Then, he continued, "But that's what I live for; to watch from a distance as people court death. Hahaha!"
The Rabbit-Kin woman frowned at his words.
Meanwhile, after Fenwick explained to Lily not to call herself Lily and to speak in a different voice, they arrived a few dozen feet away from the gigantic tent, which was as big as a two-story house.
"Halt." A guard yelled at them and stepped toward them with a stern expression. "This territory belongs to the Orchard Family, now leave before I have to use force."
"No wonder there is a golden tree embroidered on the tent," Fenwick said in realization after learning who the tent belonged to.
"Heh." The guard chortled arrogantly and said, "Now that you know you are dealing with the Orchard Family, you can leave."
*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*
However, Fenwick did not budge an inch as hurried footsteps from the tent entered his ears. And from the sound of the footsteps, there was more than one person coming their way.
*Zzzip*
After a few seconds, the tent was unzipped and a brown-skinned, brown-haired man with inch-long tusks came out with a big, happy smile on his face.
His eyes brightened when he saw the familiar figures.
Right behind him were two identical-looking twins with their eyes firmly shut.
"Uncle, Owner Lucian, and Li-" However, Garrett stopped speaking, and continued like nothing happened, "Why are you all here?"
However, his question was more directed toward his sister. Because of his new appearance, he could travel anywhere he wanted, without his identity being exposed.
But the same could not be said about Lily.
