Chapter 1255 Absorbing Skills
Chapter 1255 Absorbing Skills
Seeing that all his stats aside from LUK had broken past the 200 point mark, a wide grin could be seen on Valyr's face. After all, his strength far eclipsed the average strength players currently had in the game.
Not only that, but he had a strong feeling that he'd be able to give the Five Leviathans a run for their money with his current level of strength.
After all, the Five Leviathans did not know the existence of the ceiling yet. Relying on the tactics and strategies they've used in the other VRMMORPGs they've played, all of them were rushing through the levels like their lives depended on it.
Of course, there was still a good chance they'd be able to beat him. Considering how the Five Leviathans had been able to beat the Insane difficulty of the Cave of Beginnings during the game's first day, it wouldn't be surprising to Valyr if the five had already ascended to Rank 2.
In fact, he wouldn't even be surprised if they've already ascended to Rank 3 at the speed of progress they were making.
Although obtaining a Rank 3 class at such speeds made for a shaky foundation, the increase in stat coefficients, as well as a good set of equipment would still give those who've taken their time going through the ranks a bit of danger.
Then again, with how high Valyr's stats already were while still not having chosen a class, he was more than certain that, by the time he ascended to the peak of Rank 3, he'd be able to achieve the feats he did back then.
Perhaps, even take it one step further than that.
"As far as I remember, my stats are already higher than when I just ascended to Rank 2 as a blacksmith," muttered Valyr to himself, only to let out a chuckle as he found the thought amusing. "And that's with me already getting my hands on a pretty decent subclass."
"Considering that level of strength back then already allowed me to fight against those with higher levels, I'm sure I can even give slightly stronger Rank 3 class holders a run for their money now," he continued, wryly smiling as a thought came to mind soon after.
"Of course, that's only when I finally have a couple of skills under my arsenal."
Letting out a soft exhale as he sorted out his thoughts, Valyr soon shifted his focus towards the various skill books he'd gotten for his player self, which he'd classified beforehand into four categories.
"The essentials." As these words left his mouth, the young man glanced at the skill books that would give him access to spellcasting and incantation. Naturally, he also glanced at the mana circuit skill Mystia gave him.
"The combat skills." Moving his sights away from those skill books, he then spared a glance at the various offensive and defensive skills he got, which only numbered around seven in total.
"The miscellaneous skills." Unlike the other categories, Valyr had only chosen one miscellaneous skill that he felt was incredibly important for him to obtain.
Of course, that skill was none other than [Analysis].
"And the passive skills." Lastly, he glanced at the small pile of skill books that all contained passive skills, knowing that having all of them in his arsenal would significantly boost his combat power.
"Now then… what should I learn first?"
Being reminded of the various times in the past where he ended up absorbing more skill books than his mind could endure, the young man pondered over the order of how he would absorb the skills wisely.
After all, there were skills that he felt were important to absorb sooner than later, such as the various active skills he'd grabbed.
"I suppose I should stop at 10 skill books for now?" asked Valyr to himself as he continued to ponder over it, only to then nod in agreement with his thoughts soon after.
With the limit now set, it surprisingly did not take long for the young man to choose which one among the skill books he should absorb first, swiftly grabbing the skill book containing [Analysis] before allowing the system to do its thing.
Ding!
[You have obtained the active skill 'Analysis'.]
Obtaining confirmation that he'd successfully obtained the skill, Valyr then moved onto the essential skills, absorbing the spellcasting and incantation skill book he grabbed before saving [Three Revolutions, Nine Cycles] for last.
Ding!
Giving his mind a bit of time to rest from having comprehended four skills in a row, the young man eventually proceeded to absorb the combat skills he had one by one, starting off with the most basic ones among them.
Ding!
[You have obtained the active skill 'Mana Bolt'.]
[You have obtained the active skill 'Mana Barrier'.]
Then, once he was finished absorbing the basic combat skills, he then moved onto the remaining combat skills he obtained, which included [Basic Mana Manipulation] and the four basic elemental manipulation skills.
Ding! Ding! Ding!

"Yeah… I think that's enough for now." Realizing that he'd absorbed 11 skills in total rather than the 10 he limited himself to, Valyr decided to stop absorbing more skills for the meantime. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Though his mind was telling him that it could still endure a couple more skills, the young man decided to err on the side of caution for now. After all, he wasn't really in a rush to learn all of the skills he'd gotten.
"Speaking of which… how much time have I spent going through my preparations?"
As the thought of taking things easy came to mind, Valyr soon wondered how much time had already passed since he entered Greater Beyond again.
Considering the fact that he'd fallen unconscious twice while absorbing all of the elixirs, he had a strong feeling that at least an entire day had passed before he decided to give himself a breather for the meantime.
Wanting to know how much time had exactly passed since he began, Valyr went ahead and gave the system a couple of commands, prompting a screen to appear in front of his vision a few seconds later.
"The server time says that it's now the 10th day of the month," muttered the young man to himself, the gears in his mind turning as he calculated how much time he spent.
"Taking into consideration that the server time said it was the 8th of the month back when I appeared in Greater Beyond again, then that means…"
"…"
"…Oh shit.
