Chapter 861: The Malicious Body
Chapter 861: The Malicious Body
In the Sieve of Heaven, within Saint Lun Hui's passage of reincarnation, Yu Fuli fought against Saint Lun Hui. The two clashed with such force that the void itself was trembling. Yu Fuli's robes were torn and tattered, while Saint Lun Hui was bloodied and battered.
"Yu Fuli, you're not invincible after all! So you too can bleed!" Saint Lun Hui laughed maniacally, his body glowing with green light.
Though he was on the losing end of things, the fact that Yu Fuli had sustained even minor injuries filled him with excitement.
It gave him hope—not for victory, but for survival. As long as he could escape, he would consider it a win.
In his elation, Saint Lun Hui failed to notice something strange: the Yu Fuli who was fighting him had remained silent and expressionless the entire time.
At that moment, on the other side of the passage of reincarnation, another Yu Fuli emerged from a glowing screen.
This Yu Fuli exuded an air of curiosity as he leisurely examined every corner of the passage. He touched and prodded places of interest, seemingly uninterested in the battle happening in the distance.
The sudden appearance of a second Yu Fuli sent a chill down Saint Lun Hui's spine.
"Why are there two Yu Fulis? What's going on here?!" he shouted at the Yu Fuli he was fighting—but the Yu Fuli before him remained emotionless and wooden. He offered no response.
"You're not the real Yu Fuli at all, are you? The real one's over there!" Saint Lun Hui shouted.
While he was distracted, the fake Yu Fuli sent him hurtling across the passage. He landed near the second Yu Fuli.
Despair gripped him as he pieced the truth together. The Yu Fuli he had fought so hard against was merely a facsimile, a construct. The true Yu Fuli hadn't even lifted a finger. Was Yu Fuli this strong?!
"No! Heavenly law of reincarnation, I invoke you! Collapse! I'll kill you both simultaneously!"
The entire passage of reincarnation rumbled as it began to collapse into itself. A frightening wave of energy surged toward Saint Lun Hui and the two Yu Fulis.
"Die!" the fake Yu Fuli shouted, unleashing a devastating strike of his own.
The void shuddered as the fake Yu Fuli channeled all his strength into a single blow, causing a massive explosion that dispersed the black clouds high above the Sieve of Heaven and caused the entire realm to shudder.
Catastrophic shockwaves swept toward the inhabitants watching the scene from below. Many powerful cultivators turned pale as they rushed to defend against the shockwave, only for a massive phantasmal hand to appear in the void, dissipating the shockwave with a casual flick of the wrist as if it were nothing.
"His Majesty's strength is unparalleled..." countless voices exclaimed in awe.
Yu Fuli's display of strength left them reeling in shock.
The explosion subsided and the clouds dispersed, but Saint Lun Hui was unable to escape. They had returned to the Sieve of Heaven.
Two figures were revealed high in the air.
Yu Fuli stood immaculate, his robes pristine, as if he hadn't been fighting at all. Surveying the scene, he smiled. "The passage of reincarnation is truly fascinating. It's a pity you barely scratched the surface of its mysteries and failed to unlock its true power. What a waste."
Opposite him, Saint Lun Hui was in far worse shape. Bloodied, disheveled, and missing an arm, he trembled from the sheer contrast between himself and Yu Fuli.
He clutched a burning strand of hair in his remaining hand and stared at Yu Fuli in disbelief.
"Was I just fighting a strand of your hair all this time? You used a single strand of hair to humiliate me?!" Saint Lun Hui spat out blood, overcome with rage and despair.
He thought that he had managed to wound Yu Fuli, but the real Yu Fuli hadn't been paying attention to him at all! One strand of Yu Fuli's hair alone had been enough to make him despair. How was he supposed to take on Yu Fuli now?
Yu Fuli replied calmly, "Now that the passage of reincarnation is gone, let's end this farce. Here's where everything will end."
Yu Fuli raised a finger, summoning a massive purple sword from a glowing formation in the sky. The thousand-foot-long blade radiated unparalleled power, causing the void to tremble.
"A heart sword? And one so powerful...?" Saint Lun Hui cried out in terror.
"Since you allowed me to go on a tour of the passage of reincarnation, I'll grant you a swift end," Yu Fuli said.
With a wave of his hand, his heart sword descended. Space itself bent around Saint Lun Hui, leaving him no escape.
"No! Don't!" Saint Lun Hui screamed in terror. He felt an inevitable sense of death looming over him.
This sword was far stronger than that strand of hair from before, and he was already seriously injured. How was he to escape? When had Yu Fuli grown so strong? He was done for!
Despair and desperation flashed in his eyes. His body surged with green light as he gritted his teeth and charged straight at the heart sword.
"Die!" he roared, meeting the blade head-on. The heart sword sliced straight through Saint Lun Hui, causing his body to explode in a shower of green light. His pillar of heavenly law collapsed and dissipated.
The massive heart sword returned to the formation from which Yu Fuli had invoked it, then vanished from sight along with the formation.
The only trace that Saint Lun Hui had ever existed was the rain of green light that was now falling from the Sieve of Heaven. Against the Heavenly Emperor, even a saint was helpless.
The observers down below were stunned. Even a saint had been annihilated effortlessly.
Yu Fuli's strength was beyond comprehension.
In a remote, fog-shrouded island on the Northern Sea, one of Saint Lun Hui's avatars sat cross-legged in meditation. He had distanced himself from all conflicts and was monitoring the situation from afar.
He had sensed the fighting that was taking place with his main body and his avatars. Anger burned in his eyes.
"Han Gucheng, how dare you betray me? I'll tear you apart!" he growled, his rage palpable.
Then, he waited patiently. His attention was primarily on the outcome of his main body's fight against Yu Fuli.
He had invested immense effort into forging an invincible physical form, but it was clearly no match against Yu Fuli.
"A single strand of hair? Yu Fuli, you're as terrifying as ever," he murmured, fear flickering in his eyes.
Before long, his expression turned dark, revealing despair and anger. "No, damn it!"
Just as his main body was struck down by Yu Fuli's heart sword in the Sieve of Heaven, his avatar was suddenly enveloped in a surge of green light.
"Yu Fuli, you didn't expect this, did you? I still have an avatar! You might have destroyed my main body, but as long as I hold my charm of heavenly law, I'll return to peak strength one day. I'll be watching on as the heavens come for you! Just you wait!" he howled furiously.
With a hum, a portal of green light appeared before him. Something seemed to be surging rapidly toward him from within.
His main body, knowing that he was doomed, had pretended to perish with the heart sword. In reality, he had secretly used his world of the heart to transfer his charm of heavenly law to his avatar.
Although the destruction of his main body was a devastating loss—not just his physical body and soul, but also portions of his heart—surviving as an avatar with the charm of heavenly law was far better than complete annihilation.
Before long, with another hum, a green sigil emerged from the portal. It radiated with an overwhelming aura and instantly filled the surroundings with its power.
"The charm of heavenly law—excellent!" His eyes gleamed as he reached for it, only for a beam of white light to shoot toward him.
"Who's there?" He frowned as he struck at the beam with a palm.
The white light shattered on impact, dispersing into mist that immediately coalesced into a massive block of ice, trapping him within. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"An Ice Casket? Impossible!" he cried out in shock.
At that moment, a familiar figure appeared nearby—the head of Snowborne, calmly walking toward the charm of heavenly law.
"Head of Snowborne? What are you doing here? Are you intending to betray me?!" Saint Lun Hui's avatar shouted in panic.
The head of Snowborne ignored him. He inhaled and absorbed the charm of heavenly law in one swift motion.
"No! That's my charm of heavenly law! Return it to me!" the saint shouted.
The head of Snowborne began to radiate with dazzling green light. "From now on, the charm of heavenly law is mine."
"If the heavens learn of your defiance, they'll kill you. I am the heavens' chosen, not anyone else! Do you want to die?!"
"Don't you understand your current predicament?" the head of Snowborne asked, sneering.
The head of Snowborne's cold smile sent a chill down Saint Lun Hui's spine. Something about it felt eerily familiar. Moreover, the head of Snowborne's aura began to change. It became more and more like... Han Gucheng's.
"You're not the head of Snowborne at all. You're Han Gucheng!" Saint Lun Hui exclaimed in horror.
The head of Snowborne frowned as he glanced at himself. Then, in a calm voice, he said, "It seems like the return of my obsessions has altered my aura. Indeed: I am Han Gucheng."
"How could the head of Snowborne be Han Gucheng? That's impossible! Weren't you two mortal enemies? Didn't you previously incite me to target Han Bing?!" Saint Lun Hui shrieked.
"Ha! You're not worth explaining all this to," the head of Snowborne, Han Gucheng said coldly.
"Has this all been an act? No—each of your three bodies has a distinct aura. This one reeks of malice. You've cultivated the Heartslain Bodies, haven't you? You're Han Gucheng's malicious body!" the Saint cried out in realization.
