Chapter 13 – Blacksmithing.
After successfully selling all the potions I made, I had enough money to afford many tools related to the blacksmithing.
…
That what I though….
Some of the blacksmith tools were more… Pricy than I thought…. Fuck me…. Well…. I did used some common ingredients to make my potions and THEY re meant for the beginners and all.
Even though the stuff I made was some good stuff that the players wanted at all cost and sold for well, I'm still at the start of the game, so I think I got too overjoyed to realize the situation.... Yea… I thought I was richer than I thought…. But then after looking a bit… Yea… Reality hit hard….
Well, my current goal is right now practice plague making…. But I need a new fuking equipment since my current armor and weapons are shit!
I really need to have some proper equipment!
Without proper equipment, hunting and gathering materials will be harder.
The harder the hunting and material gathering is, the longer it will take me to research alchemy and plagues.
So, yea… Fuck…. I really wanted to start my plague research now after buying the blacksmithing equipment, but I didn't though it would require THAT much money!
Without proper armor and weapons, my plans will be getting hindering over and over and the stuff from the city won't work.
I have to get a solid armor and weapons.
I saw some players in the city, selling their stuff, but there was very few of them.
I guess players are still focused more on combat than crafting.
I tried going around, without my mask obviously, and see what people were making.
Some people made some average stuff, but some made even shitty stuff like I did before.
Honestly, it will take time, but they maybe be able to create something good in the future?
Still, since they don't have access to the private workshop like I'm planning to make, it will make them have some harder time making stuff.
Not only that, you need money to buy ingots and train and make stuff.
And to get money, they have to sell those failure weapons they made at first, but they won't sell for a lot, meaning they have to hunt, then spend money and then repeat over and over…. It will take time.
I have a good means of getting money now… Meaning I have no choice but to do it myself if I want to get weapons now…. But I cannot do that because I'm flat broke, meaning I have to gather materials, make potions, sell potions, buy stuff, bring stuff, prepare stuff and then I can start blacksmithing.
AND THE FUKING REASON WHY I CANNOT INGOR THAT ALL FOR NOW IS BECOUSE I NEED TO HUNT TO GET MATERIALS AND WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT, HUNTING WILL BE MUCH HARDER AND TAKE MORE TIME SO I HAVE TO FUKING DO IT EVEN IF I SAY NO!
FUCK!
…
…
…
The world revolvers around the money…. Be it reality or fantasy…. World is always ruled by money….
…
So, yea… I guess I have to again start hunting and gather materials and be an alchemy merchant again.
With no choice, I once again hunted and gathered the materials related to the potion crafting before locking myself away.
The only good thing about the situation was that I knew where to harvest the materials, since I wrote it down and thanks to that commotion last time, people instantly went in frenzy went they found out about me, showing up with batch of potions.
I did ended up increasing a price a little, but people weren't much bothered by it.
However. They were…. A bit chaotic to say the least. They really wanted my potions since I'm probably the only player that can sell that kind of stuff.
There was some unwanted trouble and it was WAY more annoying than last time, but still, I managed to sell all the potions with all that trouble.
There were however some people that tried to invite me to the party or tried to do some business with me, but I just said nope, ran away and took off my mask.
Well, with that trouble aside.
Please! Tell me I have enough money now!
And thank fuking god! It was enough!
I managed to buy all remaining tools and materials as ell as ingots this time!
…
Well, there was one problem.
Furnace.
I needed to make the blacksmith furnace myself from the scratch.
I got the materials, but I cannot have somebody come to my hidden base and have it installed there, SINCE ITS LITERLY AN HIDDEN BASE.
So, yea. I had to do it from scratch.
It took me some time, but I made it…... Expect the fact that I somehow managed to fuck it up without noticing and it collapsed and had to do it from the scratch again…. Fuck me… Did I did something to somebody or something? Why the fuck when the things started finally going the perfect way for me, I'm starting to encounter problems left and right!
For fuck's sake! I only want to start my plague research that will…. Oh…. Yea I can see the reason why bad things are happening to me since I want to create a plague and all…
…
…
Well, after struggling a bit, I finally managed to FUKING finally have my own forge. AND THIS time it didn't fuking collapsed!
And now my blacksmith is finally finished after this long and annoying struggle.
It's not too shabby or anything.
It doesn't have extremely good tools like the alchemy tools I have and its pretty much similar to the public workshop, but now I have a private smith, meaning I can experiment in peace and shady stuff as well as don't have to pay to use the smith any longer.
Well, I do still need to pay for the ingots, but still.
Now I have a place where I can produce all the stuff I need in peace and other stuff.
The first thing I need to make is an armor and some weapons.
I know, I know.
I said that I need to start research plagues and that its finally time research plagues.
But I also mentioned that my current equipment is SHIT!
So, yea… Before plagues, first comes armor.
And oh boy… It takes time to learn blacksmithing, just like alchemy.
Yea…. I ended up making few failure daggers like before, but then I finally made a solid dagger.
[Copper Dagger]
[Rarity: Common]
[Attack: 6-10]
After making my first successful dagger, I smelted it.
I mean… Sure.
Daggers are nice and easy to use and all.
However, there is a small problem.
Well, two to be exact.
The first is that dagger is meant for low level players… So, yea, it doesn't fit me at all. So, it's better to smelt it and use it materials to make something different and make item that fits my current level. That dagger maybe good, but it doesn't fit my current level and now I can finally make something.
And the second reason, I don't know what I want as my close range weapon.
What I need is some stronger attacks.
(The crossbow deals some nice damage and it works well with poison.)
(I can switch to the bow… But the bows requires some practice and the crossbow deals much more damage, a thing I need.)
(So… What should for my close range?)
(Should I stick with the daggers?)
(They don't deal much damage… But I don't want anything like sword, axe, spear or anything two handed, since they will require me to spent a little bit more of my points into agility and strength.)
(…Well, I was planning to put bit more points into them since alchemy and blacksmithing stuff, but still.)
(Hm….)
(What should I do?)
(Do I even need an close range weapon in the first place?)
(I mean, I'm using monsters as my meat shields, but I did realized that sometimes enemies gets near me , even when I'm using monsters as my meat shields, so having something at least at close range would be nice.)
(The daggers are quick to use at close range and I can use them with one hand.)
(I can also dip them in poison.)
"Hm…."
"No matter how you look at it…. I only need some weapon for the close range in case of emergentist, so the daggers seems like the best option?"
"I mean, I will focus on the long range combat anyway, so why I should care so much about the close range weapon? It doesn't make sense."
"Maybe instead of dagger I should make a smaller crossbow that I can fire with one hand for the case of emergent?"
"…"
"…"
(I tried to think about it… But it seems that the daggers are still the best option for me?)
(But let's think a bit more about it.)
(Is there anything like a good weapons that works well with poison?)
(…)
(Well, weapon with edges are the obvious answer, since you can cut the enemy and have the poison on the blade enter their body…. Would the blunt weapons works with poison as well?)
(…)
(A weapon "Free" to use and without much problem would be REALLY the dagger, no matter how I look at it.)
(It could easily inject….)
"Hm?"
"Inject?"
"Oh… How about the syringe?"
"…"
"Nah. I doubt the enemy would let themselves get hit with the syringe."
"I mean, it would inject a poison…. Hm… But what if…. Nah. It would won't with dagger. Combining and dagger and syringe. How would that work?
Make a small holes on the weapon edges or something? Nah., I don't think it would…. Wait maybe instead make a syringe pointy part stick out of the top of the dagger blade so it would inject poison when stabbing enemy? That could work if you look at it."
"But wouldn't I need some sturdy container for the poison or something? Since I will be using it as weapon."
"Hm… That does sound like nice idea and it may possible work…. But do I have enough specific materials to make it possible now? And unlike alchemy, I learned firsthand that getting hang of the weapons is one of the things when using them, so I would need to use that weapon to see its bad and good sides and think about what to do it with."
"…"
"Fuck…. Now I'm getting hooked on by blacksmithing…"
(…)
(I also have to think about the armor.)
(But the answer will be pretty obvious.)
(I will go something like mage or rouge outfit with some defense since my main weapon is poison magic and not "Weapons".)
(Hm… I wonder if I can maybe make an armor that can poison the enemies? Like….)
"…"
"Wait…. Armor?"
"…"
"Huh…. Wait… Maybe it can work! And it maybe way better than daggers AND it may work better with my way of fighting…. If it works, then maybe I can maybe use that idea and twerk it a little bit and then I would have a nice weapon for close combat!"
(I know that I shouldn't care much about the close combat weapon and all, but if it WORKS then maybe I can have something like a nice "Ace" in my sleeve!)
"Oh, fuck me! The plague research can wait! I'm really getting excited right now with that idea!"
And so, I began another form of experiments.
This time not an alchemy experiments, but blacksmithing.
And fuck me!
It was fun!
It took me a lot of trials and errors like before with the alchemy, but I think because I have a set goal in mind of what I wanted to make, I didn't ended up experimenting too many times as I though?
Well, both the alchemy and blacksmith is about crafting, but the methods and the results by using both of them are completely different…. Still, even if I did get what I wanted to archive, it was still half assed.
So technically I didn't archived what I wanted.
"Making the thing is one thing, but making it good is a completely different matter."
So yea… In the end I did had to experiment a bit and see what I could change to make it better.
Still, it was worth it.
[Big Evil Rabbit Robe]
[Rarity: Common]
[A robe made out of the fur of the big evil rabbit.]
[Defense: 30]
[Restriction(s): Level 18]
(Huh.)
(It maybe a common rarity, but still, it's quiet well made.)
(Not only that, its just only one piece of equipment.)
(I can make other parts of equipment.)
(So, this thing is far better than any equipment offered by the city.)
(Still. This white fur will make me stand out a bit.)
(I mean, its pure white and all…. Well, if we combine it with the helmet, pants, belt and boots, it's still worth it.)
"Not only that, I made this."
[Evil Big Rabbit Claw Finger Gauntlet]
[Rarity: Common]
[An armor meant to be worn as gloves, however it also equip the user fingers with sharp claws, turning the user fingers into claws that can be used as an weapons.]
[Defense: 20]
[Attack: 20-25]
[Restriction(s): Level 20]
(I did ended up using a bit of copper, since I needed to make it work as both the weapon and armor.)
(However, this is just a prototype, its nowhere near the thing I have in mind, but it will do for now as my close combat weapon.)
(I did ended up sacrificing some defense for the attack, but now I have nice weapon.)
(I made the fingers especially long and sharp so I can better inject poison into my enemies AND I can use crossbow without much trouble and have unrestricted movement with my hands.)
(Well, the only downside is that I still have no clue how to make the thing I want to and I'm lacking materials.)
(I need to see this in action and see what I should change or remove to make it better.)
(I also need some other materials.)
(There is also the fact that my blacksmithing skills are still half assed and there is still room to improve and all…. So, yea…)
"Still, at least now I have a proper armor and weapons."
"Now, I don't have to worry about anything anymore and can finally start my plague research!"
"…"
(This time for real. I swear.)
