Chapter 867: Chapter 863: No Way Out
Unlike her uneasy days with Harris Dunn, Richelle Dunn’s life was quite comfortable.
Originally, she was now successful in her career and happy in her relationship.
If not for her parents’ enemies and her old grudge with her child, her life would be considered perfect.
Harris Dunn early in the morning used Dunn Group’s CEO official account to post a reassuring statement, which was shared by nearly twenty corporate executives.
In the morning, Dunn Group’s stock price was still falling, but at least it wasn’t as drastic as the previous day; it didn’t hit the limit down all morning.
Denise Munni sent Richelle a message.
“Richelle, his statement seems to have prevented a plunge in the stock price, do we need to respond?”
Richelle, who had just finished doing acupuncture for Kennedy Green, checked the stock market and Dunn Group’s stock trend.
She replied to Denise, “No need, the appeasement at this level will only make the stock price plummet even worse once investors realize. Because the stock price has already dropped so much, yet Dunn Group’s response is only a statement, with no new projects or major announcements. In my opinion, his statement would have been better left unsaid.”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Denise: “You do make a point, then I’ll leave it alone.”
Richelle: “You don’t need to worry, we have plenty of time to drag it out with him.”
Richelle had waited nearly twenty years to reclaim what originally belonged to her parents.
Right now, she didn’t mind waiting a little longer.
Richelle launched a concentrated series of attacks through the media, then sat on the other side, watching the fire from across the river, and quietly waiting to see what would happen.
After Harris Dunn released his statement, he saw that the stock had slowed its decline somewhat, but he did not relax.
Although he hadn’t been in charge of Dunn Group for long, he had spent many years working overseas and knew that the statement was only a temporary solution.
In the end, he still needed to find a large cooperative project or investor to reinject capital, regain the investors’ confidence by obtaining new liquid funds.
Thus, he once again called Mason Lilliput.
“Mr. Lilliput, are you free today? Would you like to join me for lunch?”
Mason Lilliput had previously needed Harris, so he was naturally kind to him.
Now that Harris had no value to him, he began to decline his invitations.
“Sorry, I’m really busy today, afraid I won’t have time for lunch with you.”
Harris persisted, “Then how about tomorrow? Or any day when you are available, I can work around it.”
Mason Lilliput still refused, “I’m really busy lately, probably can’t make time.”
The only person Harris could think of who could quickly help Dunn Group escape its predicament was Mason Lilliput.
Now that Mason Lilliput had blocked this path, Harris had no other candidates in mind.
Jayden Dunn might have more methods than him, but Jayden now seemed resigned to his fate, living a reclusive life.
He stayed in his small backyard, striking the wooden fish, chanting sutras, and calmly accepting the outcome of everything.
But Harris couldn’t reach that state of mind; he was still young, hadn’t married yet, and his life had only just begun. To accept Dunn Group’s bankruptcy or change of ownership now:
He couldn’t accept it!
After being rejected by Mason Lilliput, after much thought, he dialed Royce Gyons’ number.
“Mr. Dunn, hello!”
“Mr. Gyons, hello, how are you considering the industrial company deal? Or, are you interested in increasing your investment in Dunn Group?”
At this point, Harris was gambling everything.
He knew Richelle had always had her eyes on Dunn Group, so rather than letting her buy up most of the shares, it would be better to have United Ventures increase its stake even more.
