Chapter 39
Chapter 39
"Misunderstandings?"
Of course, everyone took the bait perfectly. The tangled drama between Ryan, Leshuan, and me was always a hot topic in high society.
"Yes, I cleared up the rumors about me being hopelessly in love with the prince. He understood and accepted my explanation."
It didn't take much to convey my intentions—a calm voice and a tone that suggested quiet relief.
I had nothing to be ashamed of. I had already told Ryan that I was going to clear up the misunderstandings spreading among the people.
Whether he accepted it was his choice, and whether I respected that choice was mine.
However, there was one thing that still bothered me—those eyes of his, flashing with shock when he realized that my feelings had truly changed.
"You really don’t love me anymore."
'...That was truly strange.'
He didn’t love me, yet he never anticipated that my feelings for him could change.
So, the best thing to do was to keep my distance!@@novelbin@@
It was better to resolve things before Ryan had a chance to change his mind. It was in my best interest to act first.
Since Leshuan and I were no longer close, I hoped there would be no more awkward confrontations because of Ryan.
"There have been so many rumors about me being jealous of Lady Leshuan. In truth, that wasn’t the case, and the prince finally acknowledged that."
I openly shared all the sweet talk Ryan had used to try and persuade me.
"I genuinely wish the two of them all the best now."
What do you think?
