Chapter 222
My hands were shaking.
Darkness swallowed my vision again, and I instinctively moved closer to Ethan. I had my axe in one hand, but that did nothing to reassure me.
Another flicker.
When the light came back on, the thing was only five steps away. It stood still for a moment.
“Did it stop?”@@novelbin@@
And then, the moment I spoke, its head began to turn. Slowly.
The long black hair that had covered its face parted, revealing what was underneath.
Two pupil-less whites darted frantically in all directions, as if searching for where Ethan and I were standing.
Its face was grotesquely twisted, and the moment its head turned, its jaw snapped open and hung limply.
“Holy fuck!”
I was so startled I dropped the flashlight.
Whoosh—Slice!
A sharp movement cut through the air. I thought I even heard the sickening sound of flesh being cleaved.
A strangled gurgle.
Thud—Crash.
A heavy, lifeless mass hit the ground with a dull thud.
What do you think?
