The Genius Mage Was Reincarnated Into A Swordsman Family

Chapter 41 - 41

Ken found himself trapped in the bewildering chaos unfolding before his eyes. To him, the figure standing in front of him seemed far removed from humanity, a merciless specter reveling in sadistic pleasure. Klaus, with an air of unrelenting cruelty, derived delight from the torment he inflicted upon them.

"Didn’t you hear me?" Klaus’s frigid voice reverberated in Ken’s ears, causing his legs to quake even more. Cold sweat trickled down his spine, a futile response to the newfound vitality bestowed upon him by Klaus’s malevolent healing spell. Ken recognized the futility of resistance; even attempting to flee proved impossible, as Klaus could effortlessly teleport beside him, ready to administer another beating.

With a reluctant heart, Ken grasped the sword pointed at him by Klaus. Though merely a training sword, its iron blade, though blunt, could still deliver a painful blow when infused with aura. Ken’s hands trembled as he held the weapon, reluctant to harm his childhood friends who lay moaning in pain.

"Don’t make me repeat myself," Klaus declared, compelling Ken to initiate the assault. The blows rained down on Keeryl’s shoulder and Myre’s legs, though lacking in overpowering force. Klaus imposed his magic, unleashing the first circle spell, Voltage, upon Ken. Blue light surged through Ken, a tormenting electrical current inflicting agony. Ken collapsed, tears mingling with his cries of pain.

"This is my first and last warning," Klaus stated, his cold gaze fixed on the sobbing Ken. "Hit them with all your might, or you will be the one getting hit."

"Sorry, I will do it," Ken whimpered.

Summoning strength to his trembling legs, Ken tightened his grip on the training sword. He unleashed a torrent of blows upon Myre and Keeryl, a vent for his sorrow. Myre, with his broken shoulders, remained defenseless, each powerful hit causing his body to swell and bleed. Keeryl, somewhat luckier, shielded himself, revealing only his back to Ken’s relentless strikes.

Ken’s rage and pain converged, transforming into a torrent of despair. Each blow upon Myre intensified, causing blood to spatter with increasing ferocity. Klaus observed the scene with a dark, satisfied smile, relishing in Myre’s pitiable state, laughing as the blood painted a grotesque tableau.

{I didn’t anticipate you would exhibit such cruelty toward your fellow clan members,} Greed remarked with a hint of disappointment in his tone

"It’s better to be feared than being loved. Now at least I’m sure they will not try to cross me ever again."

{What if they report you?} Greed asked.

"When I’m finished with them, their bodies won’t bear a single scar; the goal is to inflict lasting mental trauma, not physical scars."

Ken persisted in his brutal assault on Myre, unleashing his pent-up anger. Myre’s body bore numerous wounds, and the relentless beating threatened his very life; he had already lost a considerable amount of blood, teetering on the edge of consciousness.

"You can stop now," Klaus uttered calmly, and Ken obeyed instantly, as if Klaus’s words held unquestionable authority. Ken gasped for breath, his strength depleted from mercilessly pummeling Myre.

A white magic circle appeared on the ground, and an ethereal light manifested itself on the three collateral bodies, healing them instantaneously before the light vanished. Myre, who was the most in bad shape with broken bones and open wounds all over his body, looked now as if nothing had happened to him. Klaus’s spell could heal them, but it couldn’t replenish the stamina they had lost screaming and crying. Although they were healed, they still looked exhausted, as if they hadn’t slept for many days.

Myre and Keeryl were healed, but they were still trembling and crying.

"It’s okay, guys, it’s almost over," Klaus said with a playful smile on his face.

The three children responded in unison, their voices cracking, "A-almost?!"

Klaus affirmed with a sinister calmness, "Yes, almost."

Initiating the Second Circle magic: Ignition

Numerous small red magic circles materialized across the bodies of the three children. Klaus allowed a sadistic smile to curl on his lips before swiftly clicking his fingers.

Click

A sharp sound echoed, followed by a sudden whooshing noise.

The small red magic circles erupted into explosive flames, engulfing the three children with searing intensity.

"AAAAAAHHHHHRG!" The piercing screams of the three children reverberated through the entire corridor, contained only by Klaus’s Silent Zone spell. Without this magical barrier, their agonized cries would have filled the entire Lionhart youth training ground. As the flames consumed their flesh, hair, and clothes, their torment intensified, their shrieks escalating in volume.

"AAAAAAHHHHHRGG, please make it stop! AAAAAHHR!"

Klaus observed the macabre spectacle with an unwavering, cold gaze.

Greed’s voice resonated in Klaus’s mind, tinged with anger, {That’s enough! Can’t you even feel that you are bleeding?}

Klaus, immersed in the horrifying scene, finally acknowledged his own bleeding nose. Regaining his senses, he touched his nose and wiped away the blood.

"Ah," Klaus exclaimed, realizing that his body was nearing its limit. Although Klaus could technically use magic infinitely since he didn’t form magic circles around his heart like mages typically do, with each spell he used, he wasn’t using the mana stored in his body. Having created magic circles inside his three opened Eyes of the Ten Eyes Mantra inside his mind realm, all the spells he used originated from his mind realm, this made it impossible for people to notice the starting point of his spells; even Greed, with his god-like senses, couldn’t tell how he used magic.

The only problem with the method he used was that instead of consuming mana, it was consuming his willpower. Since he started using magic in the morning during the test and in the afternoon while doing physical exercises, and even now keeping high-level spells active and multicasting healing, dimension, electricity, and fire spells, his mind was already exhausted. It was only thanks to adrenaline that he wasn’t feeling the dizziness and nausea that he would normally feel from overusing magic like that.

"I guess they are a bit lucky. I wanted to make them suffer a bit more," Klaus thought before stopping the Ignition spell.

Third Circle Magic: Healing Zone

Klaus cast his healing spell again, healing the three collaterals’ flesh. Sadly for them, healing magic couldn’t regrow hair and clothes. The three children couldn’t even meet Klaus’s eyes anymore. They were just curling up naked like shrimps, fresh out of water.

He then clicked his fingers again, but this time to dispel the Silent Zone spell.

"Pl-Please, stop…"

"I’m sorry!"

"Ugh!"

"What we had today was just a talk between fellow trainees, right?" Klaus said his voice dripping with malice.

"Eh, y-yes!"

"Th-That’s r-right!"

"Am I right to assume that you won’t tell anyone about our talk?" Klaus said bringing his head closer to them.

"Of… of course!"

"D-d-definitely!"

"You’d better behave if you want to avoid another ’discussion’ tomorrow," Klaus warned, his eyes gleaming with a sinister blue light.

"Y-y-yes, sir!"

"C-certainly!"

"W-we won’t e-even c-cast a s-shadow on your path!"

Klaus turned around, listening to the collaterals’ responses. As he was about to exit the corridor, still permeated with the lingering scent of burning flesh, a notification tone echoed in the air.
