Chapter 832: Chapter 830-The True MasterMind.
'It's indeed fun to see all of them squirm,'n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
I internally thought as I watched the true shocks of the news settle in. The legends of this divine beast were something everyone was taught about in their schools and such, making it so that there wasn't a child who hadn't grown up without knowing the horrors of the one beast that rose from nothing to everything.
The very one beast that created the most powerful pact that had come to be seen in that time, the greatest story of a little wolf born to be used, was an experiment. The little wolf that was nothing in the times Gods walked the land, the very wolf that one day grew up to eat the Gods and make them quake in fear of its steps.
The story of that wolf is a legend to all, and the fact that it was created to take the war against even the most powerful beings is something that inspired everyone, regardless of species. The powerful point is that if a wolf that was nothing could reach high enough to swallow up the Gods, why can't you rise above what you are?
Many legends and many stories exist of Fenrir. Its friends, in a way-the other divine beasts -made sure to talk to their descendants and others about what kind of beast it was. To this day, they have always believed that Fenrir would come back, and it did. The day it did, the whole world stood still for a moment.
'We walk on the lands of the old, and even then, we walk in their corpses.'
I played those words in my heart as I watched the expressions of everyone, the brighter ones, quickly understanding the depth of this situation. A shift was soon going to take place, a powerful shift in how power is kept and controlled in the world, and even the not-so-bright ones clicked on in the end, too.
"Just what we needed at these times of high pressure, something to boil everything over," Alex spoke, his expression looking not all that good. It's already a rising pressure with the beast kings preparing for war, and the pressure was at an all-time high. Now, news that tips over the boiling pot has come, which changes the whole story about how all of this will go, opening up the avenues for the imminent war.
"Do you have any calculations of how long we got before shit hits the fan?"
Alex spoke, looking at me. I kept my expression a bit more contained at this as my eyes went toward Tron, my gaze holding a certain pressure to it as I spoke.
"Give them the rundown."
My words made Tron lean into the table, the eyes of the ones around focused on him. As Tron debated for moments, he started to speak.
"The situation isn't looking all that good. From what we could gather, the different tribes forming the council have been secretly buying a large bulk of weapons from the dwarves. The amount collected till now is staggering."
His words painted a dark picture over the place. Everyone who kept going with the flow and pinning their hopes on the fact that this would blow out in a light way now understood that there was no simple way of going back. There will be war, and it's just a matter of who all will be pulled into it.
"There has also been a steady movement of potions, higher than a normal limit within the place too."
I caught Zora frowning at those words from Tron as he continued.
"Till now, we can't place their first target, but the council has been implementing special training regimens, stocking up on food and other necessities in a large manner-all pointing toward one singular goal which will be achieved."
Tron's words only went forth to dampen the mood further, all of them coming to understand the fact that danger was heading their way. But the good thing is the fact that none of them will be heavily affected by what is to come. They have no other family than what's gathered here.
Rika, Mika, Clara, Alex, Amon, Mark, Emma, and Jacob-all of them have only me as a possible family. Zora's family will be well taken care of, and Zora knows I will make sure of it. Tron is protected by the DarkNight; he doesn't have to worry about much, the same goes for Nihil and even Elysia, who is not here.
In a sense, the war won't be affecting them much since they will be staying within the academy. But even then, the fact that a war will take place can't be forgotten. They also have a life after the academy. How would the world be when this war takes action, and what would be its effects that cover the world?
"Do you know how they plan to break the pact without affecting the war council?"
Alex asked with a sombre voice, to which Tron's eyes came towards me. I gave him a light nod, after which Tron started to speak.
"We aren't sure yet, but these tribes have been planning this for some time. They will first break a bomb hard enough to ignore in one of their allied places, and that will spark the first reason to act. We have some sources that they have the green light to move from some powerful members within the war council itself."
These words surprised everyone as I chimed in.
"It would seem that the war council wants this war."
My words sparked a certain light within the eyes of Alex, who came to understand the hidden depths of this situation. You see, after that so-called war that took place thousands of years ago, the whole land was weak. War had driven the world to the brink of collapse, and there was barely anything to live on.
Both the realms had come out wounded, and a truce that could not be broken was created. Even within this, there were even bigger wars inside each realm. The greedy rulers looked forth to achieve more power and land, new rulers, and new kings rose from the ashes. Powerful heroes that led wars established Empires and kingdoms like the Twilight Empire and my very own Ezraeil Empire.
But people wanted more, and this was the perfect time to strike. But this only led to the whole realm of Silviya getting weaker, more blood hitting the ground. It's only later that the heroes from my side of the realm and the other side, seeing how this was going, set up the very powerful war council to keep this from forming a repetitive cycle.
At the time of creation, the war council was at its peak. They commanded undisputed power, and the greedy rulers had to bow down under the might of the heroes-not just for their reputation but also for the power they commanded that cannot be fought back. Thus, all of them had to lock their greed in their hearts and be satisfied with the power they had amassed. Thus, the power and might of the war council grew. Like-minded, rising people who didn't want to be tied down to kingdoms and empires and wanted more freedom quickly flocked toward the power built by the 11 heroes, sure of its clean and good environment. Thus, the war council-the strongest force between both the realms-was born.
It kept the peace in check, and yes, in the beginning, it was the best of places that held justice and might. But later on, as all powers do, corruption, greed, and money take over the place. They uphold their duty even now, maintaining the balance of war and even fighting against the secret cults aiming and attacking with corruption.
But the War Council couldn't get rid of the leeches that grew in it, soon turning it into a more power-driven place-the highest peak of power that all living beings try to achieve and reach. A level of power was high in the sky, and its power soon went on to hold on to most of the countries, with the war council soon coming to control many of the kingdoms and powers out there.
The power of the War Council stands above kings and Emperors, and it brought them might. Yes, in the beginning, the 11 heroes made sure not to mix their control into these places, but later on, that was not possible. The greedy ones made sure to do it, and other powerful organisations formed with their own goals in mind also started to chip away and take things and powers they wanted to wield.
In the end, everything came under their control, and it stayed like that for the years to come until it reached this stage. The truth of it is the fact that the war council is losing its edge. The absolute might and respect they wielded in the past are no longer in their hands, and slowly, the greedy rulers who hid their thoughts have started to show their fangs to the world.
