Chapter 14.1
Before the creation of the world, the primordial god crafted their first creation.
A being with wings woven from divinity and nobility, yet housed in a body imbued with wickedness and cunning. This being belonged neither to heaven nor hell, which were created later. While countless angels, demons, and intermediary lesser gods were born and found their places, this being remained utterly unique.
The primordial god agonized over where to place this creation. The one they loved most was too cruel for heaven and too merciful for hell.
After much contemplation, they placed the being in heaven, where they could watch over them closely. But the demonic power within the being began to taint the land of angels. Just by existing, the being spread corruption among the angels, leaving them flustered and panicked by the malevolence growing within themselves. Some angels, unable to bear the guilt, took their own lives and faded into nothingness.
Startled, the primordial god sent the being to hell. They feared the malevolent forces of hell might overwhelm and extinguish the being’s goodness, but fortunately, this did not happen. The demons remained as wicked as ever, and there was no issue.
On the very day the being descended into hell, they tore off their own wings and declared themselves Satan.
The wings were a breathtakingly beautiful and mysterious masterpiece, meticulously crafted by the primordial god over 120 days. Even the purest angels didn’t possess wings as divine as these, and some angels risked the corruption of Satan’s malevolence just to behold the god’s finest creation.
Tearing off those wings, akin to removing one’s own arms, was an act of extreme brutality. Yet Satan showed no hesitation. As the wings were torn from their back with a sickening crack, the feathers, which had once shone brilliantly, transformed into blades and attacked their body in a desperate attempt to remain attached. An uncountable number of blades slashed Satan’s body, but with terrifying strength, they ripped the wings away.
As a result, thousands of scars from the blades remained on Satan’s body, marks that would never fade until their soul perished.
The first creation of the primordial god, a mix of angel and demon, had chosen to become a complete demon and reside in hell as an equal among demons. By tearing off the wings that the primordial god treasured most, they severed their connection with the god.
The primordial god wept day and night in sorrow but eventually let go of their affection for Satan. They had to respect the choice of the child who had rejected divine love.
But remember this, my beloved child. I only ever loved you deeply, to a fault.@@novelbin@@
“Teacher, teacher! Where are you?”
A young girl peeked out from behind a vine-covered wall. Her transparent, amethyst eyes darted around in search of her teacher. There was no reply, but a hidden flower bud among the vines slowly bloomed open.
The girl’s name was Lilith, the only daughter of the ruler of hell and the demon who would one day earn the titles “Demon of Night, Curses, and Lust.” From the moment she gained a sense of self, she had been Satan’s sole disciple. Her exceptional talent blossomed even further under the guidance of her perfect teacher.
Satan’s mansion was the most peculiar place in hell. While most demons preferred environments suited for fighting, indulging in carnal pleasures, or laziness, Satan chose a space where plants could thrive. Unfortunately, hell’s flora was limited to demonic plants and weeds, but their terrifying growth filled Satan’s mansion. These plants were so vicious that they would open their jaws to devour any living thing that approached.
“Not so fast.”
Lilith clicked her tongue and destroyed a flower that had aimed its many teeth at her head. The other plants, which had been preparing to tear her limbs apart, sensed her overwhelming power and retreated. Burning away the vines blocking her path, she nearly stumbled when the ground beneath her feet unexpectedly gave way.
So the rumors were true. They said half the mansion was blown away during Satan’s fight with Beelzebub. As she steadied herself, another flower launched an attack and then vanished into the shadows. Damn it, I’m bleeding. She gritted her teeth, remembering the scratch on her hand from letting her guard down a few days ago. Enough of this!
“Teacher! If you don’t answer me, I’m going to burn all these plants to the ground!”
What do you think?
