Chapter 1070 Meeting
Chapter 1070 Meeting
The Runic Gate opened in the Origin Expanse. However, it wasn't a normal Runic Gate.
The Runic Gate opening before Michael was almost ten meters high and six meters wide. It tore through the fabric of the Untamed Jungle and released a soothing energy. The energy was alive and wiggling wildly as it spread into the surroundings. It was almost like the Essence of the Nature Divinity. Only that it was much more pure and potent.
Michael frowned, but on the inside, he was glad that the War Rune didn't push him to the 10th Tier. He did not want to get expelled by the Will just yet.
'The Will…' Michael tilted his head, 'Why does this Runic Gate feel like an invitation?'
He wasn't forced to enter the massive Runic Gate, but the War Rune pushed him forward while the Runic Gate tried to pull him closer. It was a request to come. Michael had no idea where he was invited to but the Runic Gate hardly gave Michael a chance. He had to enter.
Michael called out for the God Curses, but they were gone. The moment he accessed the War Rune, all connection with them had been cut. He tried turning around and calling out for others, but nobody was there.
'Should I use force?' He considered for a moment but shook his head. There was no need to use any violence. This is only an invitation to…some place. Maybe it is the Will. But why would the Will call for me? Does it want me to leave? No. The Will could have expelled me long ago. That can't be it. Is it about the upgrade to a Primal Region?'
Michael thought about it and hoped the Will would upgrade the Untamed Jungle to an Primal Region soon. Or maybe the Primal Essence inserted into the War Rune triggered something. What if it triggered the upgrade of the Untamed Jungle, and he had been postponing it by ignoring the War Rune's pleadings? 'That would be annoying. Please, don't let it be that. If I wasted our precious time because I didn't follow my gut feeling for once…'
Michael cursed inwardly and stepped through the Runic Gate. He expected to step out on solid ground, but the scenery changed drastically. He was suddenly high up in the air, thousands of kilometers above the ground, staring at the Origin Expanse.
He looked down and saw countless territories and regions. The Untamed Jungle stretched far. It was dense at its core, but small empty spots and remnants of large battles could be found on its outskirts. Michael smiled. Massive mountain ranges, an Ancient Region called Tundra of the Everlasting Winter – one-eighth of the Untamed Jungle's size – a massive ocean, and a Grand Region called Earl Plains surrounded the Untamed Jungle. The Untamed Jungle wouldn't have a problem expanding further, conquering the Arcane Ocean, the Thirteen Peaks, and the other regions. Still, Michael doubted anyone would invite him to this place high up in the sky to see how far the Untamed Jungle stretched.
He looked around but continued focusing on the ground to see the true extent of the Origin Expanse for the first time since forever. "Why does it look like everything is flat from up here? I expected the Origin Expanse to be like a massive planet." Michael murmured, studying the massive map before his eyes. There were countless massive regions, but only some were as large as the Untamed Jungle. Only two belonged to the latter. An endless plains region and a swamp.
"The Arcane Ocean is also larger than the Untamed Jungle," A resonant voice called out from behind, "As for the Origin Expanse's shape, I chose to keep it leveled like an expanse or a map if you want to think of it like that because the Origin Expanse is ever-expanding. The Origin Expanse contains half of the Essence accumulated by the weave. In fact, it produces as much Essence and energy as the weave since they're both part of the Creation. They were once one until I noticed what the Primals were doing."
Michael spun around, and his eyes widened. His lips parted, but no word escaped his lips. There was 'something' before him, but he couldn't put it into words.
The being talking to him looked like a human. No. It was made of pristine white essence and glowed brightly. All that looked human was the being's frame. Even then, Michael couldn't help but frown. The frame looked just like this.
"Yes, I do look like you. No. This is not a coincidence. No, I cannot read your mind. Yes, I like this play a lot. And yes, I do have emotions." The being was made of Essence, the purest form of Essence he had ever seen. Michael couldn't even be certain if Pure Aether was strong enough to cut through it. He could certainly test it out right here, but he didn't want to. He looked at the being and instinctively knew that it wasn't his enemy. The being was the Will.
The Will's pristine glowing frame fluctuated sometimes and ripples washed over the creature. Every ripple sent more Essence into the surrounding, overwhelming michael.
'His form is not stable, but the amount of Essence within him… It is much more than the Primal can contain. Is he also a Primal? How can I defeat someone like this if the Untamed Jungle has yet to reach the threshold of a Primal Region?'
Michael could tell that he would never have to fight the Will – he was unsure why he felt like that, but it was an instinctive thought – but he wondered if he had to be as strong as the Will to defeat the Primal. Or would he have to be stronger? Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"It doesn't matter," The Will responded lightly to the question forming in Michael's mind.
"You will be strong soon enough. The Untamed Jungle is still growing even though it has regained its old glory. It regained the Primal Essence that was once taken from it – and me." Michael tilted his head, various questions forming in his mind, but he didn't get to ask any of them.
"The Warlords achieved their goal. Or as the beings of the new era call them. The Lords. They achieved their goals." The words of the Will stirred something within him. Or was the Essence filling the air around him? Michael was not sure, but something changed…about him and the Untamed Jungle.
"The Primal are not yet dead. I'm growing stronger but I am not strong enough," Michael commented, but the Will ignored him.
"The Origin Expanse regained their four Primal Regions. It regained its former glory and expanded further than I've ever expected it to grow. All I've wanted was to weaken the Primal. Then, everything changed. The Beginning and the Massacre of the Origin occurred. I had to change my plans. I had to start anew. Plan the start of a new era. But all of this required time. Lots of time. Eons."
The Will looked at Michael. At least, he felt like the Will was looking at him.
"Why do you think you are not strong enough? Your territory is, by far, the greatest territory of all time. You are also the first to ever create an Ancient Region, conquer an Ancient Region, to form a bond of souls with a Primordial creature in the Origin Expanse, bond with a Region, create a Primal Region, and conquer a Primal Region. You achieved much more than anyone could dream of. Why do you think you're too weak to handle what awaits you?"
Michael had a lot to say, but he was too stunned by the realization. While he was up here in the sky, talking to the Will, his territory was changing. The Untamed Jungle. It…was growing stronger. His Links of Loyalty to every being in the Untamed Jungle were growing tighter and more intimate. The Untamed Jungle was just being upgraded to a Primal Region!
Still, Michael didn't feel strong enough. The strength within him was skyrocketing rapidly. His body would probably require months to finish adapting, but he was certain to feel inadequate even then. After all, he was barely strong enough to defeat the weakest Primal. Maybe he could fight the other Primals head-on now, but defeat and kill all of them simultaneously? He couldn't do that.
"Is it necessary for all of them to die?" "How else am I going to stop them? The Primal will keep coming if I don't grow stronger. They might be afraid now, but I'm still not strong enough to handle them once they dare to fight back."
"Is that so?" "Yes!"
"If you say soo…"
