Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1458: Game Over

Chapter 1458: Game Over

When the last traces of starlight entered the chaotic streams, Yu Tang’s figure slowly disappeared from where he stood to face Shang Xia.

The void regained its calm as though the exchange didn’t happen. The only thing left that could prove the pursuit of Shang Xia was the spatial debris that was left behind after the palm conjured by Yu Tang landed.

However... Even with Shang Xia’s departure, the incident was far from over. Both Sages of the Essence Xing World had yet to discover that despite the disturbance in the Qi Dynasty Capital, the world origin in the World Origin Source connected to one of the continents in their world had been drained! n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Shang Xia knew that he successfully escaped the pursuit, but he didn’t dare to relax. He didn’t dare to stop either. He concealed his aura and rushed to the depths of the chaotic streams.

He didn’t forget that Sages were able to attack in the streams of chaotic space. He didn’t have a second Fusion Talisman to save himself this time.

Speaking of which, Shang Xia wondered what the use of the talisman was. In his haste earlier, he wasn’t able to properly examine its effects. He didn’t launch any attacks against the Sage of the Essence Xing World either, so he didn’t know how powerful it was.

As he tried to think back to what he felt after activating the talisman, the effects started to fade around him. All he could recall at the moment was the starlight that fell on him as he poured his energy into the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet to counter the mysterious attack of the Essence Xing World’s Sage at the very last second, allowing him to escape.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that during the exchange earlier, something happened for him to be able to draw on such a strange power of a higher level. Even though the talisman was powerful, it shouldn’t have been powerful enough to push him into such a mystical state and draw on the power of the stars.

What truly allowed him to draw on the profound power was the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet!

As he poured his Six Direction Qi into the tablet, he was able to destroy all the formless spatial barriers Yu Tang had constructed around him and scatter the energy produced. In the end, he was able to make Yu Tang hesitate and allow him to flee into the chaotic streams without doing anything else.

The only thing that could do that was true Seventh Order energy used by a Martial Emptiness Realm Sage!

In other words, with the Fusion Talisman and the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet, Shang Xia had already touched on the level of a Sage.

The power he utilized earlier was different from the Seventh Order energy that was used by the Star Ships battle formation of the different worlds, or battle formation used by the Star Origin Guards.

However, Shang Xia wondered what type of Seventh Order energy he was able to utilize after using the Fusion Talisman.

The next second, he discovered the void before him shattering as the chaotic streams were suppressed and controlled by something. It turned into a giant vortex and started to drag him within.

“Such a huge spatial vortex... To be able to sustain for so long... How can something like this exist in the chaotic streams?” Shang Xia thought to himself and understood that someone had made a move. However, from the looks of it, it wasn’t as though they were targeting him. Otherwise, the vortex would have appeared right above him and swallowed him directly. Instead, it felt like he had unintentionally barged into a battle somewhere.

Oh shit! There are experts battling in the chaotic streams!

Shang Xia realized what was happening, and he quickly thought back to his encounter in the chaotic streams outside the Essence Ling World.

Before he could do anything else, he noticed a giant palm condensing above the spatial vortex.

Shang Xia couldn’t be more familiar with the giant palm. When he passed through the chaotic streams of the Essence Ling World back then, that was exactly what he faced. That would mean that the person who had arrived and was fighting was most likely the Sage of the Essence Ling World!

“This... Did he run all the way here to take revenge after Qi Jing’s death after the world fragment of the Spirit Dawn World of his Heavenly Field was stolen?” Shang Xia wondered to himself and discovered it was really possible.

At the end of the day, everything happened because of the Wanyun Association.

... Suddenly, things started to make sense. The reason the various factions dared to band together to mess with the Chen Dynasty and Qi Dynasty was probably because they had the support of a Sage. After all, Sages seemed to be restricted in what they could do in their world.

Shang Xia’s first suspect was Yu Tang. After all, the Yu Dynasty would be the greatest benefactor when the other dynasties fought.

However, when the experts of the dynasties surrounded the experts of the various factions, Shang Xia discovered that things weren’t as simple as it seemed.

Only when he interfered in the battle to destroy the grand formation, baiting Yu Tang to try to hunt him down did he realize that the experts of the various factions probably weren’t backed by him.

From the giant palm and battle he was seeing happen in the chaotic streams, Shang Xia realized that the Essence Ling World probably chose to butt in to try to take advantage of the situation.

At the same time, Shang Xia also understood why Yu Tang didn’t continue to chase him into the chaotic streams.

One had to know that everything that was happening before him showed that the chaotic streams weren't able to block off the sense of Sages completely. Also, fighting in the chaotic streams was an ordinary occurrence to experts at their level.

Yu Tang probably didn’t chase him into the chaotic streams as he was afraid that there would be even more experts hiding out there and he would be lured into a trap.

Shang Xia continued to think about the implications of what was happening and wondered who created the spatial vortex to stop the giant palm.

In the chaotic streams, Shang Xia’s senses might be twisted, but he could still see the giant palm crashing down on the vortex. With the clash, the palm and spatial vortex started to grind away at each other, causing powerful fluctuations to sweep across the void. Shang Xia, who was caught up in it, was swept up by the storm and he disappeared from view.
