Chapter 351 Silver Glyph Fragment
"Um, I do like the two of you are being friendly right now, but do you mind actually focusing on the fight here?" Xu Feng narrowly dodged an attack and used the split second to turn his attention to them.
He had been waiting for a while for Carmen to land a spell, but to his surprise, he found these two chatting.
Although it was indeed lovely to see the two come up with an understanding of each other, that didn't minus the fact that the Stalker was still trying to kill him.
"My bad, Guild Leader." Smiling sheepishly, Carmen held an apologetic expression.
Crimson Heart also faked a cough, but from her attitude, it was clear that she was also embarrassed by the delay.
'Ugh, these two are a handful.' Xu Feng inwardly thought.
Thankfully, time didn't actually go by that much to the point that the Stalker was able to recover another silvery symbol.
After a few rotations, Carmen successfully landed on the silvery symbol, pushing the Stalker to its vulnerable state again.
And just like that, similar scenes continued to remain the same for the next 8 minutes.
As it was about to reach the 10-minute mark, the Chasm Stalker finally shrieked its final cry before it crashed to the ground, dying from the poking damage.
Once it died, the Chasm Stalker turned into tiny particles, along with a few drops of loot appearing on the ground.
System: You have killed a Chasm Stalker!
"Haa Haa, this is the most tedious fight ever." Carmen plopped to the ground, exhausted.
Crimson Heart nodded in agreement, her face slightly pale from the constant exertion of her stamina.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
As for Xu Feng, his facial complexion was fine, but Carmen knew he was actually near his limit too.
Despite the exhaustion, everyone was satisfied with the experience points gained from killing the Chasm Stalker.
After all, the Chasm Stalker was many levels above them, and to kill such a monster at their low level was extremely rewarding.
Such cringe troupes such as receiving 1 or 2 experience points after killing such a near-boss level monster didn't happen here.
While Carmen and Crimson Heart took a rest, trying to catch their breath, Xu Feng went ahead to inspect the loot of the Chasm Stalker.
Chasm Fang Dagger, Dark Crystal, Stalker's Core, Plate Armor, and finally, the most important drop of all: Silver Glyph Fragment.
The Silver Glyph Fragment was a magical shard that could be combined to unlock ancient runes or enhance magical gear. The main concern with the fragment was that it required 100 of them.
'Sigh, that Yaren wants the completed version, but the drop rate of the Silver Glyph Fragment is abysmally low.' Xu Feng smiled bitterly. If it was a guaranteed drop, then it would have still been applicable.
However, that was not the case, given its drop rate was 10 percent only.
In other words, on average, one out of 10 Chasm Stalkers could potentially drop one Silver Glyph Fragment.
Taking a glimpse at the resting Crimson Heart, who was currently chatting with Carmen, he decided to subtly store the Silver Glyph Fragment in his inventory.
The Chasm Fang Dagger could serve as compensation to Crimson Heart for the hard work, given that only she was able to use it. As for the other items dropped, he decided to evenly share it among them with discussion.
"Alright, this is the loot we obtained." Xu Feng adjusted his glasses and proceeded to name the items one by one, as well as their usage.
"Are you sure I can have the Chasm Fang Dagger?" Crimson Heart asked in astonishment. The dagger was greater than the ones she currently uses, and if sold to a player, it would reap in a lot of money.
"I'm a Summoner so a dagger is useless for me." Carmen quickly shrugged, giving her input that she didn't care for the dagger.
"I'm a Cleric so I don't need a dagger either." Xu Feng quickly followed up, not feeling a bit of guilt for concealing the most important item. In his mind, what he did was merely an equivalent exchange without actually discussing it.
After all, if Crimson Heart insisted on taking the Silver Glyph Fragment over the Chasm Fang Dagger, then there would be a rift in their teamwork.
Additionally, no matter how Crimson Heart tried to argue, she would lose the rights to the fragment either way. It was two against one, and she even died once, prompting the battle to rely on him and Carmen to succeed.
Therefore, it was better for Crimson Heart to stay unaware of the situation, sparing them from any potential conflict for now.
"Guild Leader, are the other monsters as resilient and difficult as the Chasm Stalker?" Carmen suddenly asked after finishing consuming a Mana Recovery Potion.
Pondering for a moment, Xu Feng replied stoically, "I wouldn't say they are as resilient as this particular monster we fought, but most of the fights are probably going to be long and tedious like this one."
This particular Chasm Stalker was an unlucky encounter due to its immunity to magical attack.
Had it been another one that was only immune to physical attack, then the fight would have been much easier.
Meanwhile, Carmen placed her hand on her chin, seemingly not looking forward to encountering more difficult monsters to fight. She wanted a fierce and good battle— not one that required this kind of tedious strategy to be able to actually deal damage.
Suddenly, Carmen flashed a coy smile and leaned toward Xu Feng.
"What are you planning?" Xu Feng instantly became alerted, having understood she was trying to scheme something. Only an idiot would think she was trying to flirt with him.
"Hehe, Guild Leader really knows me best." Carmen giggled and said, "I don't think my damage is applicable much here. So how about I continue with the glitch exp on our behalf while you remain in the chasm."
As expected of Carmen!
Her best strategy was to ditch Xu Feng here and let him suffer alone while she went somewhere else to have fun.
