"Who are you, Sophia?"

This was the only question that left Alex's lips as he stared right into Sophia's eyes, causing her to freeze.

It was a simple question for Alex.

'W-What?'

'W-Why is he asking a question like this?'

To Sophia, however, it was anything but simple.

Did Alex realize who she was? Was he testing her right now?

Or did her image in his mind change after he discovered who she was? Now, he was asking, which was the real her?

The only thing she was scared of was Alex knowing her past, as she knew her fault, and she knew that Alex wasn't going to like it.

She had seen enough Alexs to know what he wouldn't like.

But just as she was busy with her thoughts, her eyes quivering in trepidation, and her fists clenched, nails boring into her palm, trying to cope with the nervousness she felt, Alex spoke again.

"Hey, Sophia?? What was your full name? Who were you?"

His voice was tinged with curiosity, and his brows frowned in confusion; he was confused as to why Sophia wasn't answering, while curious about her background.

'Huh?'

Sophia, who heard his question, had her mind go blank, especially when she saw the perplexed and interested look on his face.

It was clear that he wasn't angry at her, nor was he being distant from her.

'So, did he not have his memories unlocked?'

Sophia thought inwardly as her eyes glanced at the multicolored panel in one corner of the room, shimmering brightly.

Next to that panel was a screen that kept blinking with a pie chart, and the pie was completely white with a single thin line of red color over it.

Sophia squinted her eyes, and the next second, a percentage showed to her.

[0.0005%]

'Sigh…'

Sophia finally sighed in relief as her tense body relaxed.

'It didn't change.'

She sighed again, and unknowingly, a tear of relief dropped down her eyes.

That was the pie chart that showed the progress in Alex's unlocked memories, and it had been 0.0005 since the moment Alex had gained the memories about shatter devourer.

Her tear, however, didn't fall to the ground as it landed on Alex's palm.

"You don't have to talk about it if you aren't comfortable with it."

Alex, who was now sitting straight as he leaned in closer to her, muttered with a frown.

From his perspective, Sophi getting stunned and averting her eyes was a clear display of unwillingness, and he never wanted to force her; he was merely curious about her background, but since she didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't bring it up again.

He already had a plan for his memories of Sophia.

"Ah, I-It's not like—!"

Sophia, however, soon realized that she was giving out a bit too much of her emotions and if she did this, then wouldn't Alex feel like he should know more about her past?

He would want to help her out, make her believe that her past wasn't what she was; she was different.

She knew he would do that, but she didn't want that.

She knew that the result would be unlike what Alex could ever think of.

Her words, however, were cut short as Alex shook her head and spoke with a serious look.

"Sophia, leave it; it's fine."

Sophia, who saw the look in Alex's eyes, knew at that moment that things were soon going to change; she was sure of it, but she just nodded her head as she bit onto her lips.

"Good, now tell me what I have to do and where the system is."

Alex then stood up from the fancy throne and looked at Sophia with a smile.

Sophia, however, had her lips tremble as she saw his smile.

'I hope it would all remain the same...'

She muttered inwardly before she took a deep breath, calming her nerves, and then smiled back at Alex.

"Well, you don't actually have to do anything; all you have to do is supply me with mana until I have subdued the system."

Sophia spoke as she walked in a particular direction where a door-like structure was constructed before she pushed it open, passing through it, followed by Alex.

"I just have to supply mana?"

Alex curiously asked as he took in the surroundings; to say that he was surprised wouldn't be an understatement, as all he saw on the next side of the door was hell, but he kept it in.

There was lava and lava everywhere, nothing else, and the temperature was hot enough to cause even the air to melt, but he or Sophia didn't really feel any difference as they were immune to any harm in here.

They could easily step on the flowing magma, only for it to scatter away.

"Let me go!!!"

"Who are you?!"

"Where are you?!?"

Alex could hear some distant yells filled with pain and anger; it was clear that someone was trapped in there, and they weren't really happy about it.

"Yes, and I don't think it would be a problem for you."

Sophia replied to Alex's question with a grin on her face, causing the same look to appear on Alex's face.

"Haha, yeah, it won't be a problem; take as much as you want."

He just laughed out loud, ignoring the screams that he had been hearing from the moment he stepped into this area.

Sophia, on the other hand, had her grin widen as she spoke.

"Now for your second question about where the lust-binding system is..."

Sophia paused with a mysterious smile before she waved her hand.

*Woosh*

The whole scene zoomed into the depth of the lava-filled zone, so far deep that Alex couldn't even look at it, and all of it happened in a mere millisecond.

"WHERE THE HELL AM I?!"

"ANSWER ME—!"

Alex, however, had his eyes focused on something else as he finally found out whose scream he had been hearing for a while.

He saw a woman trapped inside of a cage, screaming her lungs out as the lava dripped down on her body from the red rods of the cage.

But she froze the moment she saw two people appearing out of nowhere.

Her eyes, however, went as wide as they could the moment she saw Alex.

'D-Demon lord?'

Her silver eyes quivered in terror as she realized that Alex was way more dangerous than she had imagined, and...

'How the hell did he even know I was present, and even if he somehow found out, how did he trap me—!'

Her hourglass-shaped body trembled as she couldn't believe what was happening.

She never thought even in her dreams that someone from this world would ever be able to perceive her presence, especially after the world's will turned her into a system, but her thoughts came to a sudden halt the moment her eyes fell on Sophia.

'N-No way...'

Her eyes widened as she realized something.

"Y-You are a system as well?"

She shuttered as her eyes trembling silver eyes—which complemented her silver hair—looked into Sophia.

There wasn't any logical reason behind her coming to that conclusion; it was purely based on her instinct, but she knew that she was right, even more so when she saw the smile on Sophia's face widen.

"Looks like you're not that dumb."

Sophia nodded her head repeatedly as if satisfied with the silver-haired lady's actions.

'I-Is she stronger than me?'

For the first time, the lust-binding system, who had been the strongest powerhouse in her world, thought that she wasn't the strongest.

Especially because she was linked to her master's strength, and her master wasn't even a legendary ranker yet.

'Master...'

But just as she thought about Master, her eyes turned toward Alex, and a certain glint passed through her eyes.

"H-Hey, Alex Matthew, y-you should leave your system and form a contract with me; I'm way more useful than she could ever be!"

She hurriedly spoke, moving closer to Alex as she held the bars of the cage, but just as she did that...

*Hissss*

The sound of flesh being burned was heard, and the silver-haired, system lady quickly pulled her arm back with a pained shriek.

"Fuck!"

She looked at her palms and saw a bloody mess with blood flowing out of them.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

'This isn't even possible—!'

She ground her teeth at the absurdity of this situation. Her being harmed wasn't even possible—not until she got a real body, at least.

Her thoughts, however, were cut off again as she heard a chuckle and a giggle going on at the same time; her gaze turned to look at Alex and Sophia, only to see them wiping off the fake tears from the corner of their eyes.

Their eyes had a mocking glint, looking at her as if she were an idiot, only adding to her agitation.

*Ssssss*

The next second, however, another drop of the way too-hot lava fell on her back, burning her flesh the moment it touched.

"Arghhh!"

She groaned in pain as she glared at Sophia, as she was sure that only she could do this.

What she didn't know was that the real show was just about to start.
