Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 359 - Play a game with me.

"My dick!!!"

*Clink**Clang*

"Urgh—cough!"

Lokiath snapped open his eyes in panic and horror, trying to get up and look at his nether region, only to groan in pain and choke as he found himself bound to a single, metal slab.

His wrists, ankles, neck, and waist were bound by black leather belts linked with chains that were attached to the metal slab he was laid on.

The slab, on the other hand, was strong enough to not budge even though he, an epic-ranker was trying his hardest to break free.

The place he was in was completely dark, making it hard for him to even guess what was happening or where he was.

'Was it the king of Noxviel?'

He growled inwardly, sure that it was the king of Noxviel who was behind all of this.

He had almost won the match in the most heroic way, and he was just about to get his kingdom a full victory on his own, but that bastard just couldn't let him be.

He didn't even focus on the fact that Olivia Fyzenar, his mother, had died; it was as if he never even considered her anything other than an outlet of pleasure.

Or maybe it was that he thought that all of that was just a nightmare—a nightmare where he lost his oh-so-great little brother.

Whatever it was, right now, Lokiath was more focused on getting out of this place.

'System, how long was I out for?'

He questioned the system inwardly, still trying to break free of the chains, only to fail miserably; it was as if his body gave up on him, and he couldn't even muster his strength.

But the question he asked was the thing that was most important right now.

If he didn't reach the fighting point by afternoon, then his family's fighters would have to get into a group battle with the Noxviel family's fighters.

That too would be a lost case if he didn't reach the Colosseum by the night since the group battle is about to be conducted on the night of the same day.

He had too much at stake to keep being locked in here.

"Hey! Let me out of here!"

As he waited for the system's response, he shouted out loud, wanting to get a response, which he didn't get.

"Call that fucker king of yours! I want to talk to him!"

If you can't get something with a simple approach, try the other ways—this was a pretty famous saying in Lokiath's old world, and right now, he was doing it just that.

He was trying to provoke whoever was supposed to be guarding him by cursing their king; the one who would be placed to guard him, a royal captive, wouldn't be just anyone other than the king's most trusted and loyal retainers.

But he frowned at the lack of response even after this.

'Hey, system! Don't you dare bail out on me right now?!'

When he got nothing from the outside, he went back to the system, which had yet to reply to his previous question.

[The host's life is in immediate danger, so please stay still and let me gather energy for an emergency teleport—!]

The system's answer, however, was cut off by a relaxed yet mildly annoyed voice that echoed through the room.

"Tone down a bit, will you? Or I might just kill you right now."

*Shiver*

Lokiath felt chills run down his spine as he heard the voice right next to him.

'T-The D-Demon Lord…?'

His eyes widened as he instantly knew who it was; he could never forget that guy's voice, after all.

"M-My lord…?"

There was not a hint of arrogance in his voice as he questioned out loud.

As he grew stronger, he became more sensitive to the disparity of power between each level, and everyone in the demon empire already knew that Alex was a legendary ranker.

*Click*

The next moment, a clicking sound was heard, and a dim light lit up the entire room.

"Yes, it is me."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Followed by the same voice in the same tone, causing Lokiath's head to creak toward the source of the voice, only to freeze in panic as he found a pair of cold red eyes staring at him without blinking.

[The scenario is deemed to be of a higher magnitude than predicted; please give me permission to use your life force to fasten the teleportation process.]

Along with the voice of Alex, Lokiath heard the voice of the system in his head, filled with the same urgency that he was feeling.

'Do it! Do it! Just get me out of here!'

He screamed in a frenzy, wanting to just get out of here, as for his life force, he could just grow stronger and increase it.

"W-What can I do for you, m-my lord..?"

Lokiath, knowing full well that he wasn't invited here or called here for some kind of task. He was abducted, and that too by the demon lord, someone who was above everyone else.

"Hm, nothing actually; I just want you to play a game with me."

Alex, on the other hand, stood up from the throne made of a chair that he sat upon, and started circling Lokiath, causing the tension to grow more than it already was.

"G-Game..? W-What kind of game, my lord?"

Lokiath trembled as he heard Alex's words; it was as if his body was screaming for him to escape the area as soon as possible.

'Hey, system! I don't like where this is going, so please hurry up! How much longer is it gonna take anyway?!'

He was breathing heavily as he yelled inwardly.

[I am trying my best, host, but it is going to take at least a minute; please try to stall for that long.]

The system replied in a hurried tone as if not wanting to waste time, really trying its best as it had said.

'Wh-What the hell?! I don't want to play this freaking game, and you want to stall for time?!'

Lokiath, who heard the system's words, was alarmed but before he could do anything else, Alex's voice was heard again.

"Don't waste my time, Lokiath; I'll let you go once the game is done, and it's a short game, so you better be ready."

Alex's voice suddenly turned cold as his frosty eyes bore into Lokiath, causing him to shiver again.

"A-As you wish, my lord..."

Lokiath, realizing his situation, hurriedly nodded his head.

'I-I just have to stall for a minute...'

He tried to console himself, hoping that he would be able to pull the game for about a minute.

[00:53]

He could see the time ticking next to his eyes; it was as if the system was helping him keep track of the time.

But just as he was hoping for the game to be a long one, Alex's voice was heard.

"Whoever holds their breath longer will win, and the game starts now."

'Huh?'

Lokiath, who heard Alex's words, was stunned for a second before he realized what had happened.

'What the hell is wrong with his brain?'

An incredulous expression marred his face as he realized the absurdity of the game.

Did the demon lord have a screw loose enough to abduct a person with royal blood just for this shitty game?

But as soon as he saw Alex staring at him with a hard look, he hurriedly held his breath, not wanting to lose.

'At least I will be able to hold my breath long enough for the system to—!'

His thought, however, was cut short as...

*Baam*

"—Khuak!"

A fist landed on his chest, causing his eyes to widen as he coughed out the breath he had in his lungs.

"Argh!"

Lokaith, still unable to move his body, groaned in pain as he tried to regain his breath, but then he heard Alex's words again, as if a whisper of death.

"You lost, Lokiath."

"W-What? But t-that was c-cheating!"

Lokiath, still trying to regain his breathing, let out an exclamation. Panicking.

Alex, however, just shrugged.

"I never said that we couldn't make our opponent lose their breath."

Alex stayed true to his words; the game was supposed to end the moment one lost their breath, and Lokiath had lost.

He had never said that one cannot touch their opponent.

But just then, Lokiath noticed something.

'W-What the hell! System, where're you?!'

He grew agitated as he had a really bad feeling grip his heart; he felt like something important was stolen from him.

He couldn't tell what had happened, but the restlessness he felt only increased, and then he noticed a strange silence enveloping the room, causing his gaze to turn toward Alex.

The next second, however, he frowned.

'What's wrong with him?'

He saw Alex standing in his spot with a blank expression, his expression clouded.

It was as if he was here, but not here at the same time.

But not for long; soon, a wide grin made its way to his lips.
