Chapter 21

Chapter 21

The day we returned from the "Wizard's Forest," the Imperial Palace was thrown into chaos.

It was understandable. We had been missing overnight, and we looked like drenched rats.

I slept like the dead for a day and, fortunately, didn't catch a cold, thanks to staying warm through the night.

The next day, as I was resting and recovering, Lady Mare came into my room.

"Your Majesty, Marquis Louis and Lord Sean are here. Should I let them in?"

Of course, they wouldn't just sit still. The Matreon brothers would be worried.

"Yes, please let them in."

As soon as I spoke, the door burst open.

"Livia!"

Sean rushed in with a serious look on his face.

"You were soaked to the bone in the Wizard's Forest, your dress was torn, and your hands were a mess! Are you okay?"

He wasn't wrong... but where should I even start explaining?

Louis chimed in.

"Livia, the other night, when you didn't return, we were going mad with worry. Sean and I went to Luminos to open the forest, but..."

"That guy refused, stubborn as a mule," Sean grumbled. "I almost got into a fistfight with him."

"...What?" I was incredulous. "You fought the guild master, Sean? That's crazy."

Louis sighed deeply. "As a result, Sean has been officially expelled from the wizard guild."

"Oh no."

I put a hand to my forehead. His fiery temper—what could I do about it? Wizards had no place to go if expelled from the guild.@@novelbin@@

I quickly recounted the events of that day. They listened gravely to my story.

"So, you found the herb but had a rough time with the monsters," Louis summarized.

  • I hate losing. Giving up means losing.
  • It sounds like you’ve said you’re fine ten thousand times. It makes me upset.
