Chapter 1251 Back To The Closed World Of Drayds
Chapter 1251 Back To The Closed World Of Drayds
Outside the Dark Forest, a small void rift opened, and Evan emerged from it. In his hand was a fiery red token, burning with ethereal orange flames. An illusory shadow of a phoenix appeared intermittently within the flames, adding to its mystical appearance.
"Now I have the perfect medium to get in touch with the higher-ups of the Phoenix Clan," Evan muttered to himself. "Once I return to the Closed World of Drayds, I will discuss with Anastasia and the others how best to approach them."
He carefully stored the token Blaze had given him in his shadow storage before stepping forward. With a faint shimmer of energy, he disappeared from outside the Dark Forest and reappeared at the location where the Rank Four vampire and Blaze's guard had been fighting.
Upon arrival, Evan noted that the vampire and the guard had already left, likely realizing that Blaze and the other vampires were gone.
Seeing this, Evan shook his head, a look of regret crossing his face. He had no interest in the Phoenix guard, as he planned to cooperate with Blaze in the future. However, losing the Peak Rank Four vampire was a significant loss.
When he was with Blaze, he had refrained from acting against the vampire as defeating a Peak Rank Four vampire would have required him to use either his shadow undeads or the Halberd of Destruction, as most of his authorities were currently on cooldown.
But deploying either would have risked exposing his identity—something he wasn't willing to do yet.
Without his shadow undeads, the Halberd of Destruction, or his authorities, killing the vampire would have been an exhausting effort, and Evan had deemed it unnecessary at the time.
He had planned to deal with Blaze quickly, finalize their agreement, and return to capture the Rank Four vampire.
Without Blaze present, he could have used his shadow undeads freely. Unfortunately, before he returned, they already left.
"What a pity," Evan muttered with a sigh. He then willed himself back to the location where Velgoth and his shadow undeads were waiting.
After returning, he recalled his shadow undeads into his shadow storage and picked up the ice cocoon.
"Let's go," He said to Velgoth, beginning to walk in the direction of the teleportation formation.
As he walked, a flash of black-gold light appeared atop the ice cocoon, and Elora materialized there.
Evan glanced at Elora, noting the eager expression on her face, and smiled.
"Excited that we are finally going home?" He asked.
"Yes!" Elora nodded vigorously, her eyes gleaming. "I want to see Mother as soon as possible—and get my jumbo feast!"
"Jumbo feast?" Evan raised an eyebrow, confusion flickering across his face.
But soon, the memory of their encounter with Valery on Earth resurfaced, and his mouth twitched.
"Elora," He asked in a low voice, "Are you talking about your 'reward' for poking the eyes of women who stared at me for more than ten seconds?" n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Yes!" Elora confirmed enthusiastically. "I poked the eyes of eight women who were staring at you while we were out. Now I can get eight jumbo feasts when I report it to Mother!"
A drooling smile spread across her face as she spoke, and Evan felt utterly helpless. With a resigned sigh, he used his spiritual power to control a handkerchief and wiped the saliva from her mouth.
As he did so, something caught his attention, and his expression turned serious.
'Elora's body is becoming more tangible…' He noted inwardly, and his resolve to increase his rank as soon as possible solidified further.
The Halberd of Destruction in Evan's possession was merely a replica of the true Halberd of Destruction, which remained sealed within the Tomb of the Ancient.
Azroth had warned him that he only had six years before the True Source of the Eldritch Energy—sealed by the Halberd—would awaken and he needed to grow stronger before that happened.
Once the seal broke and the True Source of the Eldritch Energy emerged, the real Halberd of Destruction would return to Evan on its own, as it was intrinsically linked to Elora, the Halberd's spirit.
Elora's ethereal form becoming more solid was a clear indication that the seal was weakening and the true power of the Halberd of Destruction was gradually returning to her.
"I need to reach Rank Six before whatever is sealed in there comes out," Evan muttered to himself and sighed.
Not only did he need to prepare for that, but he also had to devise a strategy to deal with Mythrenor. According to the black figure, the essence clone Evan had destroyed belonged to the Progenitor of Elves, who was currently in Utopia.
'Mythrenor, Elysia, Winterclaw, Baphomet, Eldrakar… and so many others. Why do so many people want me dead even though I am such a friendly guy,' Evan thought, a distressed look crossing his face.
The realization that many of his enemies were after him because of Azroth's actions only added to his frustration. He sighed again, sinking briefly into depression.
"What a burdensome life," He muttered, stopping in front of a tall tree.
Evan scanned the surroundings with his spiritual senses, and after confirming no one was nearby, he retrieved a silver-coloured paper from his shadow storage and stamped it onto the tree.
The moment the paper touched the tree, it began to shake, and a portal appeared at its base.
Evan gestured for Velgoth to follow and stepped into the portal.
Once they had both entered, the portal collapsed, and the silver paper disintegrated into ash. The tree returned to its original, unassuming state.
Emerging from the portal, Evan felt a light breeze brush past his face, making him close his eyes briefly.
When he reopened them, the familiar scenery of the Closed World of Drayds greeted him. He took a deep breath, feeling his earlier frustrations begin to fade.
"As long as I become strong enough, it doesn't matter who comes after me. I will blow them away with a single punch," He said with a faint smile.
His gaze shifted into the distance, sensing a familiar aura approaching. "Besides... it's not like I am alone."
