Chapter 307: Rare Opportunity

Chapter 307: Rare Opportunity

As Yao Ran admired the Ruyi, Yuan Rihui explained, "Miss Yao, this jade Ruyi is over four thousand years old."

"It has been owned by the Fu family for generations and passed down from their ancestors. The owner told me it was bestowed upon his family when the Fu clan helped an emperor of an ancient dynasty ascend to the throne."

Placing the jade Ruyi back in its box, Yao Ran looked at Yuan Rihui and asked, "What does he want in exchange for this jade Ruyi?"

Yuan Rihui took out a piece of paper, placed it on the low table, and said, "This is the list of supplies my clients want. Miss Yao, please take a look."

Yao Ran picked up the paper and read through the list. Noticing that most items were food and medicine, she said, "I can give you all the food and other supplies, but for medicine, I can only provide 5% of what's listed here."

Hearing this, Yuan Rihui frowned slightly, "Miss Yao, isn't 5% too little? I'm afraid my clients won't agree to your price. Besides, distributing the medicine later will be difficult for me."

Yao Ran pondered for a moment before replying, "I understand your concerns, but you also know that medicine production has been halted for almost a year now. As for the medicine circulating on the market, most have already expired or lost their effectiveness."

"We also don't know when production lines will resume. I need to keep some medicine for myself and my friends. Offering you 5% from this list is already the maximum I can do."

Listening to her explanation, Yuan Rihui fell silent, deep in thought. Yao Ran didn't disturb him and quietly sipped her tea.

After a while, Yuan Rihui said, "Miss Yao, if you can only provide 5% of the medicine, the owner of these antiques might cancel the deal. You see..."

Although he didn't finish his sentence, Yao Ran understood what he meant.

Yao Ran needed antiques to upgrade her space as soon as possible. She had a hunch that her space had only one final upgrade left before reaching its maximum level.

Even though she had enough medicine to fulfill this deal, Yao Ran still hesitated to take it out. The quantity required was a lot, and if someone with bad intentions found out she could provide so much medicine in exchange for antiques, they might assume she had more hidden away and target her. However, she was unwilling to let go of this rare opportunity.

After the megatsunami hit Haicheng Beach, more earthquakes occurred around the world.

The frequency of these small earthquakes is getting shorter and shorter, and Yao Ran speculates that a super earthquake may occur in this Beifeng province in the near future. By then, all antiques will either be buried under the ruins or lost in chaos.

After weighing her options, she looked at Yuan Rihui and said, "I can provide 15% at most."

Since she had increased the offer by 10%, Yuan Rihui decided not to negotiate further. "Deal," he said.

Once the negotiation ended, Yao Ran said, "I'd like to inspect the antiques first."

"Alright."

While Yao Ran examined the antiques, Long Yu said, "Brother Yuan, let's start unloading the supplies."

Yuan Rihui nodded and instructed two men, "You two, help Miss Yao pack the antiques she selects."

"Yes, Brother Yuan."

Turning back to Long Yu, Yuan Rihui said, "Brother Long, after you."

Long Yu glanced at Yao Ran before following Yuan Rihui out to unload the supplies. It took them two hours to move and count everything.

When Yuan Rihui's men placed the final box of antiques into the truck and locked the compartment door, Long Yu said to Yuan Rihui, "Brother Yuan, we still have other matters to attend to, so we will take our leave now."

Yuan Rihui had initially planned to invite them for lunch, but upon hearing they had other things to do, he smiled and said, "Alright. See you next time."

"See you next time."

Watching the truck drive away, Yuan Rihui said, "Go and inform our clients that their antiques have been sold and ask them to come and get the supplies."

"Yes, Brother Yuan." The men accepted the order and quickly set off to complete the mission.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Sitting in the passenger seat inside the truck, Yao Ran asked, "A Yu, are you going to see Captain Li?"

Long Yu nodded, "Mhm. Do you remember the warning he gave me before in the Hubin Lake?"

Yao Ran thought for a moment, recalling that Li Tianyu had advised Long Yu not to move into the Juncheng Military Base until the first phase of construction was complete.

"I remember." She said.

"The soldier mentioned that Li Tianyu has been looking for me for months. I want to find out what he needs, so I decided to visit him today." Long Yu explained.

Listening to his explanation, Yao Ran nodded in understanding. "I see. Since you are going to gather information from him, should we prepare something for him just in case?"

Long Yu thought about it and nodded. "Alright. Just prepare a few packs of cigarettes." Hearing this, Yao Ran took out a few packs of expensive cigarettes from her space and put them in Long Yu's backpack.

Following his memories, Long Yu drove to the barracks and stopped in front of the main entrance.

As he stepped out of the truck, a soldier came out of the guard post, approached him, and said, "Comrade, you can't park your truck here."

Long Yu replied, "Comrade, I heard that Captain Li Tianyu was looking for me. I have come today to see him."

"What is your name?" the soldier asked.

"Long Yu."

After noting his name, the soldier said, "Please move your truck to the side while I go inside

to inform Captain Li of your visit."

Long Yu nodded, "Alright."

Once the soldier went inside, Long Yu parked the truck by the roadside and waited inside with

Yao Ran.
