Chapter 710
As I step foot into the forest where the fool fox lives, a group of fairies suddenly popped out from the bushes and surrounded me.
The kids who had guided me up to this point ordered me to go away without making a sound. If they hadn't, I would have been overwhelmed by the fairies by now.
The fairies, complaining like they were being treated unfairly, were being watched with a pleased expression by Lucy, who was glaring at them with red eyes. I turned my head after seeing the smoke sitting next to me.
"As if you were waiting, you appeared," I said.
"This is the place I protect. When someone as conspicuous as you shows up, it's easy to spot you," she replied.
"Like a puppy waiting for its owner at home?" I asked.
"Not much different. Look, my tail is wagging uncontrollably," she said.
Despite being treated like a dog, the woman grinned as if she was happy, and I knew she was the very fool fox I had known.@@novelbin@@
"At this point, I would have preferred if you'd put a leash on me to show that I'm your pet," she teased.
"I’d rather abandon you in this forest," I retorted.
"Hmm, that would be difficult. Once a pet is adopted, you have to take responsibility for it," she replied.
"I have no memory of adopting you," I snapped back.
"What are you talking about! What about all the memories we've built together?" she exclaimed dramatically.
What memories could we have, really?
All I could remember was you charging at me like a pervert and me being terrified.
- "Apostles of the gods!"
- "Damn! We’ve been spotted!"
- "Run!"
- "Damn! Even here, the gods’ influence reaches!"
What do you think?
