Chapter 653: Chapter 653 - The Prediction: Doom
Chapter 653: Chapter 653 - The Prediction: Doom
The atmosphere inside Golden Age Company's main control room was just as chaotic as the battlefield itself.
Marco, the CEO, sat in his chair, his gaze fixed on the central monitor. The live feed displayed waves of monstrous creatures advancing relentlessly toward the capital city of the Dissidia Kingdom.
"Have we confirmed that the emergency quest has been sent to all players?" he asked.
An assistant immediately replied, "Yes, sir. The quest has been distributed, and push notifications have gone out to everyone."
Marco exhaled slowly as his eyes flicked to the growing number of online players displayed on a nearby screen.
Sighing, he nodded. "The AI predicts a 97% chance that the kingdom will fall. The king... won't survive."
A heavy silence settled over the room, each team member processing the weight of those words.
"Even so, let's remember that predictions aren't guaranteed. There's always the chance for something unexpected. We need to stay sharp and ready."
He leaned back slightly, running a hand over his face before letting out a deep, measured breath.
"The AI's analysis is clear-if things don't change, the king will fall, and the throne will be lost. All we can do is hope the players intervene enough to lessen the damage to the city." Marco's voice softened as he added, "The Champions of Gluttony have been exceptional so far. They've exceeded expectations. Let's see how far they can carry this fight."
The screen flickered, shifting to show the appearance of the Named Demons now wreaking havoc on the battlefield.
A member of the team stepped forward to give an urgent briefing, focusing on the profiles of the four monstrous foes.
A woman in a crisp white coat took charge of the presentation.
"In the western sector, we're dealing with King Balam," she said, gesturing toward the display.
The screen showcased a towering demon with a bull's head, massive horns, and armor wreathed in flames. And also a massive blazing greatsword the demon held.
"This demon possesses immense strength, unparalleled defense, and is extraordinarily difficult to kill. On top of that, his damage potential is catastrophic."
The screen shifted again, this time to display a summary of King Balam's most dangerous skills:
[Bull Head: Unleashes seismic shockwaves that shake the battlefield, creating fissures of molten lava.]
[Molten Dominion: Summons a fiery aura, transforming the ground around him, scorching any who approach.]
It became glaringly obvious that King Balam's fire-based attacks weren't just devastating- they were relentless.
His abilities inflicted continuous damage on anyone daring to engage him, and with his nigh- impenetrable defense, defeating him seemed an almost insurmountable task.
"Just looking at that Demon from here is enough to give me chills."
"Yeah, it's massive-and those muscles? Insane."
"I wonder if Optimus can handle this one."
"Optimus has great agility and mobility. Plus, he's versatile with his damage output, and he's
got solid survivability thanks to Trison and Toberry supporting him."
"I'm sure he'll pull off this fight with optim...ax?"
The others paused, then exchanged awkward grins at the terrible pun.
"In the eastern sector, we have Countess Murmur," the woman continued.
The screen shifted to display the demon. She was a striking figure, her dark, lightweight armor accentuating her form. Flowing white hair framed her face, and a pair of graceful, yet ominous wings extended behind her.
[Voidfeather Barrage: Summons dark, fiery feathers from her wings, raining them down in a storm of explosive projectiles.]
[Duskwrath Aura: Emanates a field of corrupted light that disorients enemies while significantly enhancing her speed and agility.]
"Countess Murmur is not only fast and incredibly agile, but her magic damage output is substantial," the woman explained.
The image on the screen made it painfully clear. A demon that could fly, attack from range, and move with terrifying speed would be a nightmare to confront-especially in a battlefield as vast as the one in the eastern sector.
Taking her down would demand a monumental effort.
"Goldrich and Jovina will have a hard time keeping up with Countess Murmur," someone muttered under their breath.
"Yeah, mostly because that demon can fly. It's not exactly ideal when your opponents are better on the ground."
"But who knows what kind of tricks those two might pull off," another chimed in.
"Next is Duke Alloces," the woman continued.
The screen now displayed a towering demon with a lizard-like head. His body was clad in fiery armor that seemed to pulse with molten energy. A single dragon wing jutted out from his left side, and in his hands, he wielded two blazing swords that radiated an aura of pure
destruction.
"Duke Alloces is a master of dual blades. He's a brutal fighter with exceptional agility,
making him incredibly difficult to counter," she explained.
The display shifted, highlighting the demon's key abilities:
[Magma Veins: Alloces channels molten energy to reinforce his body, rendering him immune
to physical attacks and reflecting damage back as bursts of fire.]
[Blazing Wrath: When critically injured, Alloces engulfs his entire body in flames,
dramatically boosting his speed and strength for a short time.]
From the profile, it was painfully clear that this dual-blade demon was a tricky adversary. His ability to nullify physical attacks and enter a berserk state when near death made him a
formidable challenge.
A few team members exhaled sharply as they processed the implications. "Livelywood looks like he's going to have a blast with the opponent he's facing this time," someone murmured.
"Yeah, I like that kid," another replied. "It'll be interesting to see how he handles this one."
"True, but the Magma Veins ability should be counterable by Starfall with her magic
damage," a third added.
"But then again," another interjected, "Starfall is more of a versatile mage. Her damage
output isn't exactly optimized for situations like this."
The room fell into a momentary lull as the team collectively sighed.
The woman pressed on. "And last, we have Marquis Orias."
The screen now displayed a demon with the majestic head of a lion, adorned with a pair of grand wings. His robe and crimson armor exuded an air of regal authority, his presence both
graceful and menacing.
[Crown of Dominance: Channels divine power to summon spectral lion soldiers or
temporarily control the minds of his enemies.]
[Infernal Roar: Emits a deafening roar laced with fiery energy, stunning foes and unleashing a
fiery shockwave that engulfs the battlefield.]
"Marquis Orias has considerable magic damage potential," the woman explained. "And yes, like Countess Murmur, this one can fly- and he has the ability to summon familiars."
The team nodded quietly, absorbing the weight of her explanation.
Marco finally broke the silence, his voice calm but weighted.
"What does the AI predict about their chances of defeating these four demons with the
resources we currently have?"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The woman straightened, her expression grave as she replied. "Inexperienced players will struggle just to get close to them. Realistically, we can only rely
on a handful of players above level 200. As for the Versalor Guild, which is already engaging
them directly..."
She trailed off, hesitating before delivering the truth.
"No. As of now, there's still no viable solution to defeat all four demons."
Marco nodded slowly. He exhaled as he muttered, "And this isn't even the main dish."
