Chapter 188
Side Story – Rebellion in the Underworld (2)@@novelbin@@
I had resolved to rebel against Zeus, the King of the Gods, but the obstacles standing in my way were no small matter.
First and foremost, Zeus was immensely powerful. While I could defeat him if I joined forces with Poseidon, no one could take on Zeus alone.
The armies of the Underworld, though numerous, would be of no help in a battle between the Three Great Gods. I had to find another way.
Should I consider negotiating with Gaia and seeking her aid?
...No. She would surely demand the release of the Titans sealed in Tartarus.
Even if I used all my persuasive skills, I would still have to concede to releasing everyone except Cronus.
Freeing even a handful of Titans, let alone all of them, would create chaos far beyond my ability to control.
I couldn’t rely on Poseidon either, despite his constant ambition to take Zeus’s throne.
To reform Olympus and claim the throne, I would have to subdue all three of the Great Gods, including Poseidon.
Even if I succeeded in dethroning Zeus, conflicts over dominion of the heavens with Poseidon could drag on for decades, causing unending suffering for mortals.
Perhaps I could use Poseidon and then betray him at the right moment... but it was unlikely he would fall for such a plan so easily.
The gods of the Underworld would undoubtedly follow me if I rebelled. This realm was as firmly under my control as Poseidon’s seas were his.
At least here, my authority surpassed even that of the King of the Gods.
The only uncertain element in the Underworld was the Hecatoncheires guarding the entrance to Tartarus.
Though they had been cast into Tartarus by Uranus, it was Zeus who had freed them.
What do you think?
