I Own EVERY Class in This World: Life Set to HELL Mode!

Chapter 404 The Golden Door, The Test of the Guardians

After what felt like an eternity of swimming through the oppressive abyss, Stark finally reached a massive structure embedded into the cavern wall.

The sight was breathtaking: a colossal golden door towering over him, at least 50 meters tall and twice as wide.

Its surface shimmered faintly in the dim light, decorated with intricate engravings of battles long past.

Classifiers clashed with monstrous beings, their figures frozen in dramatic poses of struggle and triumph.

"...?"

Stark drifted closer, his sharp eyes scanning every detail.

At the center of the door were three circular indentations, their smooth surfaces gleaming like polished glass.

One of them glowed faintly, filled with a golden sphere.

[Defeat all Three Guardians to access the Boss!]

"So, that's the deal," Stark muttered, his voice low as he stared at the glowing indentation.

The orb seemed to pulse softly, its light almost alive.

Voracron's defeat must have triggered it, marking one of the three slots.

He stepped back slightly, his gaze shifting to the paths branching off to either side of the door.

The left path descended into darkness, the faint echo of dripping water the only sound emanating from its depths.

In contrast, the right path sloped upward, its faint red glow suggesting intense volcanic heat.

"So, like a mini-trial," he mused, tilting his head to one side. "Reminds me of the first domination trial I went through with the guardians..."

Remember, back when he had to kill all guardians to activate a statue to descend to the final boss.

This was oddly similar, almost as if... it was directly taken inspiration from...

"No, I must be imagining it," he mumbled.

The corner of his mouth twitched into a wry smirk.

As powerful as he was, Stark couldn't help but feel like he was being toyed with.

It wasn't the first time a Rift had thrown him into something elaborate, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

With a sigh, he ran a hand through his damp hair, pushing the blood-matted strands out of his face.

"Two more to go. Might as well get this over with."

His decision was swift.

Without a second thought, Stark chose the left path, drawn to the silent promise of darkness.

He also felt like the right one was too "good", which probably meant the strongest of the guardians was there.

He adjusted his stance, steadying his breathing as he plunged deeper into the unknown.

The air grew colder as Stark ventured further along the left path, the temperature starkly different from the humid waters of the cavern.

A sense of unease began to settle over him, the kind of prickling sensation that set his instincts on edge.

The tunnel twisted and turned, narrowing at times until it felt like the walls were closing in around him.

"..."

Without the scuba suit, he would have never managed to survive long enough, so he could thank Ed for it.

Despite his outward confidence, Stark knew better than to let his guard down in a Rift, especially one as advanced as this.

Suddenly, the path widened into an expansive chamber.

Stark stopped in his swim, his eyes narrowing as he surveyed his surroundings.

The cavern was vast, its ceiling disappearing into shadow far above.

Strange, luminescent plants clung to the walls, casting an eerie blue-green light across the jagged stone.

And then, he saw it.

In the center of the chamber stood a massive creature, its body coiled and shimmering with a metallic sheen.

Its serpentine form was easily the length of several buildings, its scales glinting like polished steel.

Two piercing yellow eyes glared at Stark, unblinking and filled with malice.

[You have encountered "Thalveros, The Abyssal Sentinel!"]

[Level: 740]

[HP: 60,000,000]

[Skills: Abyssal Coil, Venomous Torrent, Steel Skin, Crushing Depths, Sentinel's Rage...]

"..." Stark looked at the monster from above.

Thalveros let out a low, guttural hiss that reverberated through the chamber, the sound rattling Stark's bones.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The creature began to uncoil, its massive body shifting with terrifying grace as it prepared to strike.

"Seems like Valcreon was truly not enough to defeat you, Chosen," it said, smiling, only it's eyes visible in the darkness below.

"..."

Stark didn't wait for the first move.

In an instant, he summoned his Crimson Spears, the glowing weapons materializing around him with a crackle of energy.

The cavern was bathed in a crimson glow as Stark hurled the first spear with pinpoint precision, aiming directly for one of the creature's eyes.

The spear struck true, but instead of piercing through, it glanced off the creature's scales with a sharp clang, leaving only a faint scratch.

-0!

"Steel skin," Stark muttered, his jaw tightening. "Figures."

With a roar that sent ripples tearing through the water, Thalveros lashed out with its massive tail.

The strike was lightning-fast, the sheer force of the movement creating a shockwave that sent Stark hurtling backward.

He managed to regain control just in time, activating Invincible Dodge to avoid the follow-up strike.

The sentinel's tail slammed into the rocky floor, shaking the entire chamber and sending chunks of debris floating upward in the disturbed water.

Stark darted to the side, swimming with fluid agility as he assessed his opponent.

"Alright, big guy," he muttered, gripping his spears tightly with his 6 hands, "Let's see how tough you really are."

"Do you truly believe you can defeat me in my domain?" Thalveros laughed from the abyss, "You beat all the others on land, I'd love to see you try in water!"

There was a clap from below, and immediately, the way Stark came from closed down by an impossibly sturdy wall of rocks.

[You cannot leave until defeating the monster or dying.]

[Though it is possible to destroy that exit if you're strong enough :).]

"..." Stark looked at the tunnel before smiling, "Do you really think I care? You're the one that's gonna one to escape by the time I'm done."

"I will use your remains as decoration for my abyss, and showcase you to the lord and all these lowly humans at the surface," the Sentinel answered.

Stark was surrounded by darkness at this point, the glow of his Crimson Spears being the only other source of illumination, which was why he kept them.

Stark darted sideways, his six hands gripping his spears tightly.

His movements were fluid, calculated, each stroke through the water propelling him with incredible speed.

"You talk too much," Stark said, his voice cold as he flung two Crimson Spears in quick succession.

The spears spiraled through the water, glowing with an intense crimson hue.

Thalveros responded with a swipe of its gargantuan tail, deflecting the projectiles effortlessly.

"I guess it's time to get serious," Thalveros kept laughing over and over.

The water stirred ominously as the Sentinel's laughter echoed, carrying an unsettling resonance through the chamber.

Stark's narrowed eyes were fixed on the looming silhouette before him, but even his enhanced perception had failed to grasp the sheer magnitude of the creature.

As a faint mist began to seep from Thalveros' body, it illuminated the surrounding darkness, creating an ethereal glow that bathed the chamber in eerie light.

The mist, shimmering faintly with golden flecks, coiled around the beast, accentuating its immense form.

Stark's jaw dropped. His mind raced as he took in the sight before him.

"How...?"

The Sentinel was massive.

Its serpentine body twisted and turned, stretching beyond what he could fathom.

The cavern itself struggled to contain the beast, its coils filling the space and wrapping around the jagged walls like an ancient god of the abyss.

At this size, Thalveros wasn't just a creature, he was an environment, a battlefield unto himself.

"You finally see it, don't you, little Chosen?" Thalveros' voice boomed, reverberating through the water. "I am the abyss. I am eternal. You will die knowing the futility of defiance."

Stark didn't answer.

His Crimson Spears floated around him like orbiting satellites, their glow defiant against the overwhelming darkness.

He inhaled deeply, calming the rising tension in his chest.

"Size doesn't matter," he muttered, his voice steady but cold, "And if you were as powerful as you say, you wouldn't be the goon of an apostle."
