Chapter 429 429. Partners
"That... how is that even possible?" The woman was shocked. She couldn't believe what she had just seen. She knew that there was only a residue of Orion's soul in the sphere, so she couldn't understand how the residue managed to break the sphere and fly away.
"Mother..." Just then, a very faint voice rang in her ears, causing the woman to tremble. She immediately turned her attention toward her daughter and saw that she had awakened.
"Briana, my daughter, you are awake!" The woman started crying upon seeing her daughter finally open her eyes after so many years. She immediately hugged her, never wanting to let her go again.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Meanwhile, Orion's soul flew at light speed before disappearing into the sky.
Orion could only see wind and clouds rushing by as his soul sped through the air. Then, a gate appeared in front of him. "What's that gate?"
"No! This can't be!" Grey Orion cried in shock.
"What? Do you recognize it?" Orion asked.
"No, I don't, but the aura coming from inside the gate definitely belongs to the Null Void," Grey Orion said in despair.
Orion sighed. "It seems we're doomed to die, as we're not stopping. My soul is flying on its own toward the gate."
Just as Orion's soul reached the gate, it opened and sucked his soul back in.

Somewhere in the Null Void, there was a red gate shining brilliantly in the grey, colorless world.
The gate suddenly opened, and Orion's soul passed through it.
However, before he could do anything, his soul was immediately drawn to the ground.
"Null Void wants to devour me now that I've died," Grey Orion cried out as he saw Orion's soul being pulled toward the ground.
Orion frowned. "Doesn't that mean I'll drown in it with you?"
"True. I was only supposed to come here, but since I got linked to you, our souls first combined, and now the Null Void wants to devour us both, thinking your soul is mine, or whatever," Grey Orion said.
"Damn that Azeron!" Orion cursed Azeron for linking his clone's soul with his.
Just at that moment, his soul reached the surface of the Null Void, but instead of standing on it, his body began to sink as though he were standing in dense water, not on solid rock.
"Damn! This is the worst way to die!" Orion thought before recalling something. "Grey, you're in the Null Void, so can't you control the infinite energy here?" he asked, thinking of something.
"No, I can't," Grey Orion said depressingly. "My link to the Null Void was cut off the moment you died, and now that I'm here, I can't even absorb the chaos energy flowing in the air."
Orion sighed upon hearing him. "Is this the end then?" He calmed himself down and gave up any resistance. He knew that if he was going to die here, no one could save him, so he decided to stop resisting and calm his mind.
'I wonder if I could return to Earth after I die here,' he thought as he was half-drowned up to his waist.
"Earth is so boring. I'd rather die than go back to Earth," Grey Orion sneered.
Orion laughed and asked something. "Do you know why this seed of revenge is inside of me? It's like a flame that won't die down, and its intensity only increases over time. The intensity to kill those who want to harm my family."
Grey Orion chuckled. "Heh, that's easy for you. You know what I go through? Every cell in my body wants to kill the Archons, that witch Luna, and the Ten Seats. The seed of revenge you talk about in me is like a searing dragon. It wants revenge so badly that it won't die down until I've killed every single human among the Archons."
Orion was shocked. He hadn't expected Grey Orion to be suffering more than him.
"After I saw you meet Luna, I also saw Luna, and at that moment, I almost lost control from the overwhelming rage and anger I felt toward her. I wanted to kill her so badly that I ended up destroying an entire city. Only after that was I able to regain my senses and calm my anger down," Grey Orion said, recalling the incident.
Orion frowned upon hearing him. "Is this because of the chaos energy? I also want revenge. I also want to kill them, but I haven't lost my reason enough to attack a city out of nowhere."
Grey Orion sighed. "As we know, mana is a positive energy that comes from positive feelings and emotions, while the exact opposite of it is chaos. Chaos carries dark, negative emotions. You can't use your abilities without thinking about negative thoughts, right? It's because of this reason. The chaos energy is flawed, full of resentment and negative emotions."
He added, "You only use chaos energy, so its effect on you is slightly lower, but I am entirely made up of chaos energy, and the constant flow of infinite chaos energy only makes things worse for me."
Orion sighed but also knew that the seed of revenge inside him wouldn't exist for nothing. He really wanted revenge, and he couldn't deny that, but the chaos energy inside him acted like fuel, intensifying the flame of revenge.
"I guess... this is it for us," Grey Orion said as Orion's soul was drowned to his neck. Only his head remained visible above the ground.
Orion nodded and said something he was curious about. "This drowning thing is surely taking its sweet time."
"Now that you mention it, it's very strange. It shouldn't take this long to devour your soul," Grey Orion said.
"Well, who cares?" Orion shrugged. "At least I had someone to talk to before I die."
"It's nice knowing you, partner," Grey Orion said.
Orion smiled lightly. "Same."
Just after that, Orion's entire soul was engulfed by the ground as darkness clouded both of their visions.
