Chapter 26
A brief, awkward silence hung between them. Kang Jinwook’s expression showed traces of genuine shock, while Sunwoo, realizing he might have gone too far, shifted his gaze around nervously, avoiding looking at him altogether.
‘What am I, a grade-schooler? Saying “I don’t like you” like that… How childish can I get? What’s wrong with me these days?’
Sunwoo silently reflected on his behavior. Just because the other person was being unreasonable didn’t mean he had to stoop to the same level.
“You… don’t like me?”
After a long pause, Kang Jinwook finally spoke. His voice was unsteady, and even his eyes seemed to waver.
“N-no, no. It’s not that I dislike you, Kang Jinwook. It’s just that… I don’t want to be around you. I mean, it’s overwhelming, and I don’t understand the reason behind it. Anyway!”
Sunwoo stammered, fumbling to explain himself as he glanced cautiously at Kang Jinwook.
He was worried he might have triggered the “dominant Alpha” switch in him again. Yet, Kang Jinwook remained quiet.
In fact, he seemed to be lost in thought, which Sunwoo noticed. He was right—Kang Jinwook was reflecting on the series of events that had led up to this moment.
Sunwoo arguing with him before suddenly fainting, sitting dazed in the hospital, acting like a completely different person, submitting a resignation and running away, and standing on a bridge with a melancholy expression.
Yes, perhaps the words “I don’t like you” were genuine.@@novelbin@@
“…Fine. I was wrong. I’ll take responsibility from now on, in whatever way you want.”
His voice, strangely soft and conciliatory, caught Sunwoo off guard. He didn’t even have time to process the change in Kang Jinwook’s demeanor, as the unexpected words completely threw him off balance.
What do you think?
