Hidden Dead Ends

Just after Li Chengyi dealt with one masked figure, sharp wails echoed from every direction, rapidly approaching.

The sounds surrounded him, coming from all around.

Black shadows began rushing at him from the entrances and exits of every shop.

A series of fierce impacts struck Li Chengyi, but they were ineffective.

The Wisteria Flower Scale Armor’s defenses were already stronger than the Sword Lily's, and with the added Fortify flower language, Li Chengyi barely felt the attacks. He even had enough freedom to summon blades in his hands, hacking away randomly at the figures around him.

From the shadows of Wu Ji Convenience Store behind the slot machine, a towering black-cloaked figure slowly emerged.

This figure was dressed like the other masked entities, but it was much taller—over two meters high, towering above the rest, who were only about 1.7 or 1.8 meters.

On each side of its lanky body, wide sleeves hung down, revealing two twisted, snake-like daggers with faint blue sparks flickering at the tips.

“An elite, huh?” Li Chengyi exhaled, clasping his hands together to merge his two swords into one longer, thicker golden greatsword, and walked toward the towering figure.
