With the Korean Peninsula fully reclaimed and the golden fishing grounds of the Northeastern Three Provinces secured, Ha Jung-seok’s next logical move was to deal with the Baekhwa Sect. He clearly saw it as an obstacle he needed to remove. After all, the phrase tosagupyeong—“slaughter the dog after the hunt”—existed for a reason.
