Chapter 370 Wuhan's Anger!
"Injuring me with my attack was a good plan, but you forgot to consider one thing." Everyone except Noah stood in the meeting hall along with Wuhan and listened to the voice recorded in the talisman with a serious look on their faces. "I am not a simple Soul Formation Realm cultivator."
Among the four people present, Wuhan and Xin Yan had the darkest expressions. The thing that Wuhan found was a voice-recording talisman.
"Shisan must have used this talisman sneakily to record the voices of their attackers," Ming Ye commented on his analysis as the recording started in the middle of the fight.
They could not hear anything besides some fighting noises and some of the words of a woman.
After Wuhan brought the recording back to the sect, everyone gathered to help him find some clues from the recording.
"She must have done it when she realized she could not bear her opponent or escape, but to think a soul formation level cultivator would stop them," Wuhan clenched his fists in anger as the recording continued.
*Splash!*.
"Running is no longer an option." The sound of metal cutting through the air, along with the blood gushing and spraying on the floor, echoed in the now silent room.
"It is time, we leave this place before we attract the attention of the people here."
*Thud*
*Rumble!*
Wuhan's hands trembled as his aura shook the air of the room. The ground started to crack and the furniture in the room started to shake. Ming Ye covered Ruo'er with his aura to protect her from Wuhan's blazing Fury.
"Don't think of the worst." Noticing Wuhan's rising anger, Xin Yan looked at him sharply, "Don't jump to any conclusions until we find them."
"Why didn't she record using the image recording talisman?" Ruo'er asked curiously, to which Ming Ye replied, "The image-recording devices can be easily spotted by someone in the Soul Formation Realm because of the energy emitted by the device, but the voice-recording talisman is different.
There are some talismans that unless someone is looking for them specifically, are hard to discover."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Ruo'er nodded in understanding hearing her grandfather's words.
"Go to the sect and proceed with the plan. If you dare to cause any trouble for us, I will personally use you…" Wuhan was about to place the talisman back, thinking that the recording was over, but then he heard something that made him freeze in his place.
They could not hear the sentence fully as the voice started to sound distant as if the talisman was getting farther away from the source of the voice.
"The Sect…?" Wuhan uttered coldly before the whole sentence was registered in his mind.
"It looks like one of the sects in the empire has been infiltrated by someone," Xin Yan spoke coldly, everyone agreed with her words as they all came to the same conclusion hearing the last line.
Wuhan lowered his head and did not say anything at all. Xin Yan glanced at him before looking back at the talisman.
"You don't think it's them, do you?" Ruo'er suddenly spoke up, catching everyone's attention. "The people Noah talked about."
Xin Yan narrowed her eyes before replying, "It could be possible, or it could be the people from the demonic sect–"
"Tell me, Xin Yan, who do you think it is?" Wuhan raised his head and looked at Xin Yan with an emotionless expression on his face. His cold voice made Ruo'er tremble in fear. She had to bite her lower lip to calm herself.
"There is a high chance that the woman is a member of the Red Dawn Cult." As soon as Wuhan heard those words coming out of her mouth, he turned around to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" Just as he was about to step out of the room, a sharp voice stopped him in his tracks; he turned around and saw Noah standing at the other end of the room with his body drenched in sweat.
Surprised by Noah's sudden appearance, Wuhan paused for a second before he opened his mouth to speak.
"I am going to—"
"Leave and knock on the door of every high-ranking sect and demand to search through their sect?" Noah rolled his eyes, seeing through Wuhan's dumb plan.
"Were you here the whole time?" Ming Ye asked with a slightly weird tone in his voice.
"I don't have to be here to know what's going on." Noah's chest heaved up and down as he answered without moving his gaze away from Wuhan.
Just as he was looking at Wuhan, the man was also looking back at him with a firm look in his eyes.
"Sigh~, I wonder how your empire has not been attacked by your surrounding neighboring empires with such a rash empire as their leader," Noah shook his head.
With a wave of his hands, Noah was standing there in a new set of fresh robes. He walked forward and stopped in front of Wuhan.
"I will go look for your disciples." Noah's sudden declaration caught everyone off guard.
"Why would you–"
*Smack!*
"I am the elder of the sect, you forgot. If one of my fellow elders is in danger, I would have to make a move. Of course, there is an exception of me hating that elder and the disciples." Before Wuhan could say anything, Noah walked past and smacked the man on his back.
"Besides, you have more important matters to attend to; I alone should be enough for this task, don't you think?" Seeing the smile on Noah's face, Wuhan stopped in the middle of opening his mouth to retort.
He realized that the time to make the choice he was putting off was now. He could not let an incident like this happen again.
"Are you going with Xin Yan?" Nodding in understanding, Wuhan asked curiously. Being the strongest person, Xin Yan was the best backup one could ask for.
"No, she has her things to take care of. I should be enough for a soul formation-level enemy." Wuhan looked at Xin Yan, who surprisingly didn't say anything to retort Noah's words.
"Very well, I will leave this task to you. Please bring my disciples back safely." Wuhan spoke in a pleading tone as he looked at Noah.
"Can I come along with you?" Just as Noah was about to leave, he was stopped by someone. 'Déjà vu?'
