Gender Swap: The Introvert’s Broadcast

Chapter 38

So, I really didn’t know.
I didn’t think it would rain at this hour.
I thought it would rain after Yeram got back, but—

Boom!
Crash!

The thunder rumbled from all directions, and the rain kept pouring down.

“No, wait a minute. This isn’t good.”

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Trying to send your sister on an errand and now it’s a mess, lol]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: What are you gonna do about this?]
[It’s really pouring outside, lol]
[Seoul people, smh]
[Hwanhee: The rain suddenly picked up]
[Is this really okay?]
[Shouldn’t you go pick your sister up?]
[Mangming: You should go pick your sister up]
[Mangming: Could be dangerous]

Even in the chat, they were worried about Yeram.
I was pretty flustered myself.
I hadn’t expected any of this to happen.
But while I was panicking for a moment, I quickly thought about what to do.

“Hm… Then, I’ll go out for a bit. The chicken will get soggy if it gets wet.”

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Oof]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Trash]
[But yeah, if the chicken gets wet, it won’t taste good, lol]
[Right choice]
[The fact is, a person can come back, but cold chicken can’t come back]
[Hwanhee: Yeah, go quickly and come back]
[Kang Hoo-min: Wishing for a no-blood entry for the chicken]
[No-blood entry, lol]

It seemed better to go quickly.
I wouldn’t want the chicken to get soggy, and I didn’t feel good knowing Yeram would be out in the rain.
So, I thought to myself, ‘I should take a taxi.’

It would be fine to walk, but I didn’t really want to get wet, so it seemed smarter to invest a little and take a taxi.
With that thought in mind, I called Yeram.

Rrring-

I heard the ringing sound for a moment—
And then, after a brief pause.

“Oh, why?”
Yeram picked up the phone without any particular concern.
She didn’t seem to know what was going on outside.

“It’s raining outside. I’m going to pick you up.”

“Do you really need to?”
“Didn’t you look outside? It’s really pouring.”
“I’m watching it, but it doesn’t seem that bad.”
After she said that, I heard the sound of her walking outside the store. A moment later—

Swoosh—!!!

The sound of raindrops slamming into the ground echoed through the phone.

“What the heck, it’s coming down hard.”
Finally, Yeram seemed to realize the gravity of the situation.
She must have realized how serious it was.

“I’m taking a taxi, so send me where you’re standing. I’ll come pick you up.”

“Uh... Okay.”
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: How can you hear the rain over the phone, lol]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Guess it’s really raining hard]
[Do people from Jeju not know how heavy the rain is in Seoul?]
[You guys from Seoul really like to casually brag about it]
Temporarily disconnected!
[Why is this person mad?]
[Mangming: The rain came out of nowhere, I’m going to]
[Mangming: Skip streaming and rest today]
[Mangming: You need to stream though]
[What’s wrong with this guy]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: No swearing please]
[Harin: Then I won’t stream either]
[Harin: It’s too much trouble]
[What the hell]
[Is this really how it goes?]
[Learning something good, learning something good, learning something good]

Suddenly, Mangming and Harin were making plans in the chat.
It was pretty surprising.
They were both saying they weren’t going to stream today.
If this keeps up, it might seem like I was pressuring them to not stream.

“I didn’t tell anyone not to stream, so don’t blame me.”

I spoke up first.
That should prevent the fandoms of other streamers from doing something weird to me.
Well, if it’s Mangming’s fandom, they might do that, but—
I thought that while opening my mouth.

“I’m going to grab a taxi and end the stream. Everyone, go do what you need to do.”

[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: I’m a bum, I don’t have anything to do, what should I do?]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu: Lol]
[Being a bum is just playing around]
[Just act like you always do]
[Mangming: Then I’ll just drink alone tonight]
[Mangming: Guess I’ll sleep early]
[Harin: Mangming, let’s eat together]
[Harin: It’s boring to eat alone]
[Mangming: Oh, should we?]
[What the heck, just stream and eat]
[Please start your stream, please start your stream, please start your stream]

As I watched Mangming and Harin make plans, I ended the stream.

[Stream has ended!]

With the message that the stream had ended, I quickly grabbed my clothes and headed out the door.
I saw the taxi parked in front of the entrance to my apartment building.

“Let’s go.”
“Sure~”

And so, we headed to where Yeram was.
It didn’t take long to get there.
It was a 20-minute walk, but with a car, it was naturally much faster.

Rattle rattle

The taxi drove quickly, and soon I arrived at the spot where Yeram had said she was.
I saw a lot of people standing under an awning, apparently waiting for the rain to stop.

‘It doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon.’

I wondered if it might be better to grab a taxi and go home now.
While I thought about that, I arrived at the spot where Yeram was standing.
She was crouching down, looking at her phone.

Rattle

I opened the window and shouted out.

“Get in!”

Yeram glanced toward me, looked at the chicken I had bought, and got into the backseat.

“Why is it raining so much? I was so surprised.”
“Yeah, I was surprised too.”
“Didn’t you know?”
“Hey, what’s with the questions, I’m the one picking you up.”
“Sorry.”

And so, we safely headed home with Yeram.

“I didn’t think this would happen.”

But I never expected this to happen.
I thought Yeram would be fine carrying the short distance, since she wasn’t weak, but—

“Ugh, damn...”

I never imagined that the chicken would end up on the floor.
If it hadn’t rained so hard, maybe it would’ve been different.
But the ground was now covered in mud.
So, of course, the chicken box was ruined.

Click

I snapped a picture of the chicken box on the ground and shoved my phone back into my pocket.
Still, it was sad, but I had to move on.

“I’ll make a nice meal for you. Let’s forget about that.”

It’s better to forget about things like that.
There’s nothing dumber than dwelling on regrets or getting angry over things that have already happened.

“Sigh… okay.”

Fortunately, Yeram seemed to have accepted reality.
She had walked 20 minutes to get the chicken, only for it to be ruined in the mud.
We came home, and after closing the windows, I was relieved that no rain came inside.
I decided to make food with the ingredients I had at home and the ones Yeram bought.
But first, before that—

I uploaded the picture to the gallery.
A moment later—@@novelbin@@

Ding-ding!
Ding-ding!

I saw notifications for new comments, so I flipped my phone over and decided to check them while I cooked.
Anyway—

‘What should I make?’

I had plenty of ingredients, but I hadn’t decided what to cook yet.
I didn’t have anything in particular that I wanted to eat.
After a brief thought, an idea popped into my head.

Kimchi fried rice.
I had kimchi at home and plenty of rice, so it seemed perfect.
With that in mind, I took out the kimchi from the fridge and also grabbed the spam I had been saving.

‘Spam is kind of rare.’

Even though it was canned, it was a bit pricey, so I didn’t eat it often.
I only had it occasionally.
Today, though, I was going to use it.
Since I couldn’t have chicken, I figured this would be a good way to cheer myself up.
I mixed the ingredients together, frying them, while with one hand, I checked the comments on the post I had made earlier.

L: Looks great, lol
L: So fresh~ So fresh~ So fresh~ So fresh~ So fresh~
L: This is it, haha
L: Because of you, Harin and Mangming aren’t streaming, explain yourself
N: Stop whining, you brat
N: If they’re not streaming, then they’re not, stop whining, haha
N: You’ve been nagging for so long
L: Damn, what a waste
L: I’m hungry
N: Eat it washed off
N: As expected, the shamelessness of Kang is top-tier, lol
N: What the hell, telling someone to eat something that fell in mud, haha

The comments were filled with ridicule.
But reading them actually made the frustration fade away a little.
To be honest, I should say it’s because of the “concept post.”

‘It’s worth it if I went to the concept post.’

I uploaded the photo of the lost chicken and headed to the concept post.
A great deal.
With that thought, I continued frying the rice.
And a moment later—

“My fried rice is done.”

The fried rice was ready.
I hoped it would taste good.
