Chapter 26
Putting aside the thoughts about doing... certain personal activities, it was time to play Reore.
Not only was this one of the most entertaining games to stream, but I genuinely enjoyed playing it too.
"I'm going to play top lane, but… none of the champions look particularly interesting."
The top lane was a space where all sorts of champions often appeared. Compared to other lanes, it offered a broader selection of champions to choose from. Yet, nothing seemed appealing right now.
As I idly fiddled with the champion selection, mulling over my options, the chat window began to light up.
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Just spin the randomizer and pick one.
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: You'll probably win no matter what, honestly.
[Hwanhee]: Judging by how you've been playing, yeah.
[Hwanhee]: This isn't your rank anyway; you'll win no matter what you pick.
[Fair point, LOL.]
[Let’s go random!]
An interesting suggestion came from the chat: play a random champion.
Of course, it could annoy my team. But—
"If I win, that's all that matters."
The logic was simple: as long as you win, there's no problem.
"Alright, then. Let's go random this game."
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: No way you're actually doing this, LOL.
[But isn’t this super unfair to your team?]
[Sure, but who cares? If you win, it's fine.]
[True, LOL.]
[Kang Hoo-min]: If you win, it's not unfair.
[Please, Top Yumi. Please, Top Yumi. Please, Top Yumi.]
[Top Yumi? Bruh. LOL.]
If Yumi was selected for top lane, I'd probably have to restart the game.@@novelbin@@
From what the viewers were saying, it seemed like they really wanted Yumi to show up. Although I was still relatively new to Reore and didn't know every champion, I did know who Yumi was.
She was a support champion designed to assist the ADC. If the ADC flopped, she’d latch onto the jungler, then the mid-laner, and finally the top-laner, switching hosts like some opportunistic leech.
"Hopefully, I'll get something fun."
Personally, I was hoping for a champion that would at least be enjoyable to play, even if they weren’t particularly strong.
It was finally my turn to pick.
"Let's go with the first one that pops up, okay?"
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Yep, do it.
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: GOGOGOGO.]
[Isn't it standard to reroll until you get what you want?]
[That's boring. Pick the first one, always.]
[Hwanhee]: Gotta stick to the first one. No rerolls.]
[Kang Hoo-min]: Hope you get something interesting, LOL.]
[Imagine the chaos if it's a fun champ. Thumbs up.]
[Amumu top lane could be hilarious.]
[Who even plays Amumu top, though? LOL.]
Taking a deep breath, I clicked.
Click.
The randomizer selected a champion, and one appeared on my screen.
"What the hell is this abomination…?"
The champion's appearance was grotesque. It wasn’t that they weren’t human. On the contrary, they were far too human.
[Whoa, that body.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Look at those abs, wow.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Incredible.]
[Panting noises.]
[Hwanhee]: Seriously, this body is insane.]
[Kang Hoo-min]: Those abs make me want to, uh, start a family, LOL.]
[Classic Hoo-min and his low-tier thirst. LOL.]
[Someone ban that. Seriously.]
[Oh, but it’s a fan favorite, LOL.]
[Fan favorite is valid, LMAO.]
The champion on screen was a muscular man with a strikingly handsome face. The real problem wasn’t even his appearance. It was the crop top he was wearing, which revealed just enough of his torso to be distracting.
"Why is he wearing something like that? Just go shirtless or something."
[Hmm, but the crop top showing his abs is kind of the point.]
[Wow, look at that “energy tank.”]
[Banned temporarily!]
[What nonsense is that? LOL.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Someone needs to moderate this chat.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Why is it so filthy here?]
[Reminder: Only the streamer can moderate their chat.]
[Hwanhee]: Streamer, manage the chat already!]
[Oh~ so hot~ Oh~ so hot~ Oh~ so hot~ Oh~ so hot~ Oh~ so hot~ Oh~ so hot~]
While the game was loading, the chat's chaos peaked. Managing this madness while playing was going to be impossible.
"Hey, Cthulhu, do you like swords?"
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Huh?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Why are you asking about swords all of a sudden?]
At least he responded.
"Among all the swords in the world, I like ones made of silver the most."
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: And?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Why are you telling me this?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu]: Come on, spit it out already!]
Perfect. He was hooked.
"Because it’s your turn to receive a silver sword."
And with that, I granted him the manager role.
A small dagger emoji appeared beside his name.
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu]: What is this?]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu]: Are you kidding me?]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu]: No way, this sucks.]
The emoji symbolized his newfound position as a manager.
"Everyone, give a round of applause."
This was definitely a moment worth celebrating.
[Hwanhee]: LOL, congrats on becoming a manager.]
[Hwanhee]: Truly an honor, LOL.]
[Kang Hoo-min]: I'm so jealous. I wanted to be manager too.]
[Kang Hoo-min]: Take good care of the role, LOL.]
For the first time since starting this stream, I had a manager. It was a weighty responsibility.
"Well, since denying reality won’t change anything, just do your best."
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu]: Do you want to die? LOL.]
Cthulhu seemed ready to explode, but he was doing his job.
This was shaping up to be quite an interesting stream.
Just when the stream felt like it was stabilizing, something unexpected happened.
[🗡️Hwanhee]: Wait, what?]
[🗡️Hwanhee]: ???????]
Hwanhee became a manager too.
Ah, right. I didn’t know everything about the platform, but I’d heard that a manager could temporarily appoint another manager.
It seemed like Cthulhu had used this function.
[LOL, are they doing a skit now?]
[This is hilarious, LOL.]
[Where’s Kang Hoo-min? He vanished! LOL.]
[🗡️Hwanhee]: Is this real?]
[🗡️Hwanhee]: How does he even have the authority to make me a manager??]
[Newbie to the platform? Managers can appoint other managers, LOL.]
“What is this, multiplying workers? If this were a strategy game, I’d be a legend by now.”
Laughing at the absurdity, I refocused on the game.
“Alright, enough about managers. Let’s focus on the game now. First, I need to figure out this champion’s skills.”
[Wait, you don’t know Sonic’s skills?]
[🗡️Hwanhee]: Just look them up online.]
[🗡️Omniscient Cthulhu]: If you can’t find them online, it’s not a real game, is it?]
[So true, LOL.]
[Where did Kang Hoo-min go? For real, LOL.]
"Alright, no more appointing managers. Let’s not start a chain reaction."
I had to say it before they started turning the manager role into a game of tag.
[🗡️Hwanhee]: You’re killing me, LOL.]
[🗡️Hwanhee]: I feel like I just ate something gross off the ground.]
[What, tried it before? LOL.]
[Classic behavior for chat managers, LOL.]
After laughing at their antics, Hwanhee finally kicked someone out of the chat for an offensive message.
[🗡️Hwanhee]: Oh, so this is how you ban people.]
"Good, now you’re learning. Keep it up as a manager."
Feeling like I had the chat under control for now, I turned my attention back to my champion’s abilities.
"So, Sonic is a support champion, huh?"
A support champion meant they were designed to assist teammates. I wasn’t sure how well that would work in the top lane, but hey, we’d find out.
What do you think?
