Chapter 15
Although I greeted everyone cheerfully, I wasn’t particularly thrilled.
Sure, having more viewers was objectively a good thing, but these new viewers were likely here just to stir up trouble.
And as expected, they were already causing chaos.
[Mangming is a god! Mangming is a god! Mangming is a god! Mangming is a god! Mangming is a god! Mangming is a god!]
[I’m here to share rice cakes, neighbors! ^^ I’m here to share rice cakes, neighbors! ^^ I’m here to share rice cakes, neighbors! ^^]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Ugh, these Mangming fanboys are so annoying.]
[Kang Hoo-min Here: Let’s kick them all out.]
[You should be grateful this many people are watching your low-tier stream.]
[LOL.]
That aside, I couldn’t help but wonder how they had even found my stream.
It had only been a day since I started streaming, and I hadn’t advertised or made it obvious in my username.
There shouldn’t have been a way to know.
“How did you all find out I was streaming? I didn’t advertise anywhere.”
The chat immediately erupted with answers.
[Mangming’s chat was spamming about you like crazy. Why are you pretending not to know, LOL?]
[Someone in her chat was like, ‘Hey, isn’t that Ifrit Gallery’s favorite user, Dama?’ and caused a huge commotion.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Ugh.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: No wonder so many people joined.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Someone who was watching your stream must’ve gone to Mangming’s and started spamming.]
[Kang Hoo-min Here: Should we check Mangming’s stream to find out who did this?]
[Who the hell started this?]
[I was quietly enjoying the stream until these troublemakers showed up.]
Observing the chat, I pieced together what had happened.
Apparently, someone watching my stream ended up in the same game as Mangming, joined her stream, and started causing a ruckus.
“Alright, everyone who just joined—please leave.”
I had no reason to welcome them.
If I let them stay, they’d just keep stirring up trouble, so it was better to kick them out now.
I used a firm tone.
[Why should I?]
[Why do I have to leave? LOL.]
[Nope, not leaving, haha.]
[Mindless Mangming fanboys ON! Mindless Mangming fanboys ON! Mindless Mangming fanboys ON!]
[What a mess, LOL.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Why are there no normal viewers here?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: I just want to enjoy the stream in peace.]
[What are you even saying, Ifrit Gallery ghost, LOL?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Screw you.]
The chat turned into a battlefield between my original viewers and the new troublemakers.
To resolve the situation, I made a simple adjustment: enabling a follower-only chat mode.
“I’ve set chat to follower-only mode with a 12-hour limit. If you want to chat, wait it out.”
Now only viewers who had been following my stream for at least 12 hours could type in the chat.
As a result, the troublemakers gradually disappeared.
[Viewer Count: 34.]
Yet, a surprising number of viewers remained.
What’s going on?
Could these be genuine viewers?
Well, if they truly wanted to chat, they’d come back later.
With that thought, I selected my champion.
“This time, I’ll go with Daous.”@@novelbin@@
Daous was a female champion who wielded a double-edged axe and tore through the battlefield.
Not exactly my type, though, considering her overly muscular build.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Daous is fun to play.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: But do you know how to use her?]
[Hwanhee: LOL, I’ve never seen you play her.]
[Kang Hoo-min Here: The stream’s only been up for a day. Of course, no one’s seen it.]
[Hwanhee: True, fair point.]
Honestly, I hadn’t tried many champions in Reore.
If a champion didn’t look fun, I didn’t bother.
Why waste time on something boring when there were already too many interesting options to explore?
“I haven’t played her before, but I think I’ll manage.”
Even though it was my first time, I wasn’t worried.
Just by looking at her skill set, I could get a sense of how to play her.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Isn’t that a bit reckless?]
[Hwanhee: What if you mess up and lose the game? LOL.]
[That might be slightly inconvenient for the team.]
[Hwanhee: It’s not a big deal.]
“Trouble for the team is what those other viewers caused earlier. That’s the real problem.”
I glanced at my teammates’ champion picks, curious to see who Mangming might be.
But I couldn’t tell.
If she was using a smurf account, how would I know her username?
It wasn’t like I regularly watched her streams.
I decided to ask the viewers.
“So, what’s Mangming’s username? I’m really curious.”
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Not sure, but...]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: She’s probably mid lane.]
[Yeah, she’s in mid lane.]
[She often plays mid lane on her smurf.]
[Mid makes the most sense.]
[But why does she play mid on her smurf when she can’t carry on her main? LOL.]
[Kang Hoo-min Here: Even if she struggles in Diamond, she’ll destroy everyone in Gold.]
Is the gap between ranks really that big?
After all, only Platinum stood between Diamond and Gold.
I pondered as I bought my items and headed to the top lane.
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Top lane.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Hi, hi.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: I heard you’re a streamer.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Let’s do our best.]
“What the heck did they say in her stream for him to act like this?”
From the few times I’d watched Mangming’s stream, I didn’t recall her being this polite.
Maybe it was an online persona—or just how she acted around strangers.
I wasn’t sure, but I replied anyway.
[Ally][LondonIsDangerous][Daous]: Sure thing.]
[Ally][LondonIsDangerous][Daous]: Please carry us.]
[Ally][LondonIsDangerous][Daous]: I’m still new to Reore.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Of course.]
Just in case they were slacking off because it was a smurf account, I made sure to get a promise of effort before the game began.
And so, the match started.
But—
[Defeat!]
Continuous losses.
I felt my motivation draining away.
I didn’t feel like playing ranked anymore.
Sigh… Guess it’s time to switch to my smurf.
Switching to my smurf was the right choice.
Better to crush in Gold than keep losing in Diamond.
The chat wasn’t thrilled about it, but I ignored them, logged into my smurf, and queued for a game.
After a few moments—
Chaos erupted in chat again.
[Support Ifrit Gallery’s Dama! Support Ifrit Gallery’s Dama! Support Ifrit Gallery’s Dama!]
[Dama, fighting! Dama, fighting! Dama, fighting!]
“Just ignore it and focus on the game. They’re amateurs if they’re paying attention to this nonsense.”
[For real, LOL.]
[This is just bait. Don’t give it attention.]
[But I checked—your team’s top laner is the one they’re spamming about, LOL.]
It seemed my teammate was also a streamer.
Better to greet them properly.
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Top lane.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Hi, hi.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Heard you’re a streamer.]
[Ally][CloudySky][Corki]: Let’s do our best.]
And with that, the match truly began.
What do you think?
