From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 413 Tricked and Thrown

As the rest of the wolves dived in, Sanguina smirked. She spun around, catching a swift blade that came downward. "Like I would fall for that same trick more than once!" she scuffed.

Throwing her body weight to the left, she twisted the blade between her hands, flipping Ren into the air. He threw a fist toward her, but her eyes gleamed red as she sidestepped, dodging the strike. The wolves pounced, all diving on top of her, but were blown away by a surge of dark energy.

Scratches and bite marks covered Sanguina's body, but they slowly healed as a violent torrent of energy swirled around her. "Max Ultimo Vampirism Mode!" she declared, her muscles flexing. In a blinding moment, her fist connected with Ren's chest.

The sound of cracking bones echoed through the vault as Ren was sent flying back. He slammed into the metal wall, shattering the entire construct. The force of the impact propelled him into the welcoming room, where he slid to the edge of the stairs leading up to a man in red armor.

Coughing as he struggled to stand, Ren gasped, "Sh-shit, she broke nearly all my ribs... what the hell are you, some kind of monster?!"

Sanguina crossed her arms, black and red energy swirling around her. "Now, are you going to take me to Nanako or not?!"

The man in the red armor stood up, clapping his hands with a smirk. "Wow, thank you for the show, Lady Sanguina." Snapping his fingers, a screen appeared behind him, showing a video of a dark swamp where Vick was fighting dozens of small goblins, covered in sludge and mud. Each strike of Vick's sword left a trail of slowed enemies, their movements hindered by a fraction of a second with every hit.

Despite being covered in grime, his skill was evident as he deftly avoided the goblins' attacks while methodically slowing them down.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Seems your friend here has also been impressive so far, though he probably won't last much longer. What do you think?"

Sanguina dashed forward in a split second, her fist inches away from the man in red armor. "Screw this, I'll just remove your head from your shoulders and burn this place to the ground!"

A short second passed as she noticed her momentum had stopped. The man chuckled. "Sorry, dear Vampire, but you have a long way to go." Her fist had connected with what seemed to be a barrier.

He smiled in her direction. "Enjoy the barrier transportation," he said, as she gave him a look of a wild animal. The barrier pulsed and shimmered, enveloping Sanguina in a bright light.

In an instant, she was transported to the swamp. The thick, murky air hit her senses, and the sound of goblins screeching filled her ears. She landed near Vick, who was in the middle of fending off the goblins. He glanced at her, a mixture of relief and determination in his eyes.

"Nice of you to join me," Vick called out, swinging his sword and slowing another goblin in its tracks. "Could use some help here by the way."

Sanguina sighed, looking around. "Where the hell am I this time? Is this the place he mentioned where the King of this place was?"

Snapping her mind back to the present, she saw a goblin lunge at Vick. In an instant, she closed the distance, obliterating the creature into a hundred pieces. More short, green creatures with distorted faces, seemingly melting, emerged from the swampy grounds, arcs of pain etched across their grotesque features.

"So, Vick," she called out, slashing through another goblin, "while you were playing with these creatures, did you figure out any way out of this mess yet?"

Vick, his outfit tattered with scratches and cuts, chimed in, "Not exactly. Everything sort of feels like a massive, endless swamp. And these tiny shits have very sharp claws and disgusting breath, so be my guest to assist in finding a way out."

Sanguina nodded, her eyes scanning the area. "Let's clear them out and see if we can find any clues," she suggested, her blade gleaming in the murky light.

The goblins swarmed around them, their screeches filling the air. Sanguina and Vick moved in unison, their blades slicing through the horde. Vick's strikes slowed the goblins, making them easier targets for Sanguina's powerful blows.

Vick chimed in again, "Hey, did you get faster? Sorry, I might have forgotten to ask… What happened to you after that mist struck?"

Sanguina struck down ten more goblins with swift precision. "Yeah," she replied, "I had the pleasure of meeting some asshole in red armor. Ended up kicking his ass, and he threw me here after I went after him. Shinigamis piss me off to no end! They can never just fight one on one… Ugh."

"A shini-what?" Vick asked, his brow furrowed.

"Oh, it's a long story," Sanguina said, slicing through another wave of goblins. "They do a lot of things with souls and stuff. But they did confirm that King Griswald and the others are up ahead somewhere… wherever ahead is, I suppose. If King Griswald and his group are here, we probably aren't too far off from finding them."

Vick nodded, absorbing the information while parrying a goblin's attack. "Got it. So we need to keep moving forward, then."

"Exactly," Sanguina said, her eyes scanning the swamp for any signs of their next obstacle. "Stay sharp. They won't make it easy for us."

The pair continued to fight through the swamp, their blades cutting through the endless horde of goblins. The air was thick with the stench of the swamp and the metallic scent of blood. Every step felt like a struggle as the mud clung to their boots, but they pressed on, driven by their determination to find King Griswald and his group.

Sanguina paused for a moment, looking at Vick. "By the way, thanks for holding your own here. It would have been sad if you went and got yourself killed after hyping yourself up, so It's good to have you around."

Vick smiled, wiping sweat and mud from his face. "Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Let's find those bastards and get out of this hellhole."

As they advanced, the goblins became fewer, and the swamp seemed to thin out. The faint glow they had seen earlier grew brighter, giving them hope that they were on the right path.

We just have to keep - Suddenly the force a club slammed into the back of Sanguina's head sending her flying as Vick turned and screamed "Sanguina!"
