Chapter 477 Sneaky Baldy
The Bone Wyrm was a tough but mindless creature.
Although it was annoying to deal with, Shye was sure that it wouldn't run from him.
Hence, he thought that it would be best to make the sneaky mutt flee first, as doing so would allow him to focus on demolishing the darned wyrm.
As long as the black-furred doggy was present, it would be impossible for Shye to focus all of his attention on the undead army and the Bone Wyrm, after all, the Dark Lycan seemed to be adept in ambushes.
If he wasn't careful, he might lose his life.
Thus, removing the overgrown mutt from the battle would be ideal.
…The Dark Lycan was about to growl at the Bone Wyrm to dissuade it from joining the attack too early, however, before it was able to do so, the black-furred monster sensed lethal danger coming from the young human.
It was being targeted!
Rather alarmed, the Dark Lycan swiftly retreated to the back of the undead army.
'Tch, this cowardly dog…' Shye inwardly cursed, regretting his decision to gaze at the mutt murderously. 'If that's the case then I guess I have to deal with this army for now…'
He didn't know if the army in front of him comprised all the enemies left in the dungeon.
However, he did know that by gradually reducing their numbers, the day would soon come when he would stand face-to-face with the cowardly Dark Lycan.
'I have the blood bug anyway. No rush, no rush…'
Taking one deep breath to calm his rather frustrated heart, Shye howled to the skies and summoned his wings.

Shortly after, with one mighty flap, he charged straight at the undead army without a hint of fear in his eyes.
Since there were no more ghouls, the summoned familiars of the Black Gargoyles became the frontliners tasked to whittle down Shye's stamina.
There were around 2,000 black gargoyles, and all of them could summon two familiars, hence, Shye faced an astonishing number of 4,000 familiars resembling small Black Gargoyles.
None of them had wings like their masters, though.
Moreover, the familiars were even weaker than the zombies.
Consequently, Shye decimated their ranks within thirty minutes, exposing the vampires, who were the next line of infantry tasked with holding the front.
Witnessing the combat developments, the Dark Lycan started to panic.
It didn't know why but for a long long time now, their lair rarely had invaders, and whenever there were, the attackers were always lone young humans.
As a result, the four generals have always succeeded in eliminating the enemy, with most perishing and only a few managing to escape with their lives.
This was the first time an invader managed to cause this much damage.
Honestly, the overgrown mutt didn't know what to do.
It was confident in its lord's strength, however, the young human was no joke as well.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Therefore, the Dark Lycan aimed to injure Shye first before seeking its lord's help and attacking him together.
Unfortunately, the young invader was not only incredibly agile but also exceptionally strong, making it extremely difficult to inflict any harm on him.
…After wiping out the familiars, Shye faced the vampire horde with narrowed eyes.
The bastards were incredibly agile and intelligent, making it hard for Shye to determine which target to attack first, resulting in him being almost caught by the Bone Wyrm's tail-swipe attack.
Fortunately, he managed to jump in time, causing the wyrm general's attack to strike several of its vampiric comrades, completely obliterating their bodies.
'Tch, this damned wyrm is annoying…should I kill it first?' Shye pondered as he severed the heads of two vampires who pounced at him from his left and right side, simultaneously kicking the third vampire who attacked him from the front.
However, upon remembering that the Bone Wyrm doesn't seem to feel any sort of pain, Shye scratched the idea.
It wasn't that hard to dodge its attacks anyway.
Wiping out the undead army and making the overgrown mutt retreat seemed to be the best option for now.
Unfortunately, Shye quickly realized that slaughtering the vampires wouldn't be as simple as killing the ghouls as they were not only faster but also intelligent.
Although not all of them were able to keep their lives after failing an attack, most of them had way sharper instincts than the ghouls.
Hence, whenever they felt that they would lose their lives should they continue their attack, they would immediately stop and retreat.
This unexpected maneuver greatly threw off Shye's timing, increasing the other vampires' chances of wounding him.
Moreover, the bastards appeared to be following someone's orders, attacking in a coordinated manner that resembled a wolf pack's hunting strategies.
'But who?'
Shye glanced at the Dark Lycan who seemed to be looking for an opportunity to ambush him.
'Hmm…it doesn't seem to be the commander of the vampire army.'
While observing the vampire horde, Shye couldn't help but take a few steps back, dodging another attack from the Bone Wyrm while preventing himself from being cornered by the sharp-fanged creatures.
Most of them seemed to be hissing and growling here and there.
Hence, it was difficult to spot who the leader was.
However, Shye was sure that there was a leader amongst the vampires as it would simply be impossible for such monstrous creatures to be so organized without one.
'The question is…who?'
Shye had an idea.
The vampires seemed to hesitate whenever the Bone Wyrm attacked, thus, he decided to temporarily face the enormous undead while looking for the vampire leader.
'CRAP! That was close…'
Just narrowly evading the wyrm's unholy breath attack, Shye once again climbed onto its back, driving one of his greatswords into the small crack in its skull he had created during his initial assault.
This action helped stabilize his footing as the wyrm fiercely attempted to dislodge him.
He didn't truly care one bit about the Bone Wyrm, though, as his eyes were focused on the vampire horde, observing it carefully while holding on to his greatsword.
At first glance, it seemed that all vampires were randomly hissing and growling.
However, after careful observation for a few seconds, Shye found a seemingly regular bald vampire hissing way more than the others.
It was smaller than most, too, allowing it to blend nicely into the horde.
'Hohoh…Appraisal!'
