However…
Some things, no matter how much people try to conceal them…
Eventually, the truth will be exposed.

That day, an unexpected person arrived at the hospital with news.
“Ethan, I have found the person we’re after. He is currently in our custody. These are confessions he made under interrogation…”
Dylan Wellington had been away from A City for a while, attending to some business.
However, no one expected that…
The moment Dylan returned, he brought Aidan Lucas this shocking news.
“Are you certain, he is the captured kidnapper?” Ethan ran his eyes over the testimonies, glancing at the attached picture of the kidnapper. He squinted suspiciously.
Danger flickered in the depths of Ethan’s narrowed black eyes.
“Yes, I am sure. It is him.” Dylan changed his position, one leg crossed over the other as he reclined on the sofa. “After Joan was kidnapped, she kept something to herself. Eventually, she confided in me about her suspicions.”
“I followed those leads… a few days ago, there was a breakthrough. This guy was personally apprehended by me. There can be no mistake.”
This matter was of great importance. Even though Dylan was often frivolous, he was meticulous when he was serious about something, not allowing any room for error.
Furthermore, Joan was his sister and it was the kidnapper who had nearly killed her.
He needed to capture the culprit himself, personally interrogate him, and peel away his secrets. Or else he would not be worthy of being Joan’s brother.
“Joan has been hiding something…” Ethan looked up, his eyes narrowing into a tight frown as he questioned Dylan. “What is she hiding?”
Dylan knew Ethan would not overlook these clues.
After all, he had to tell him sooner or later.
“About that… Joan suspects that Hannah Ford may have been involved in the kidnapping.”
Dylan divulged the request Hannah Ford made just prior to the incident, asking Joan to bring Lily Gray to a secluded area for a video chat.
“The reason Joan began suspecting her is that, despite their initial agreement, Hannah became unreachable thereafter no matter how much Joan tried to contact her.”
“If that was merely a coincidence, then the kidnappers mentioning the Scott family when they had Joan, couldn’t be chalked up as one. Hence, Joan suspects that the Scott family is involved in this. You know, Hannah’s grandmother is the current Mrs. Scott.”
Dylan continued his explanation when Ethan remained silent.
“I followed this lead and discovered that these men used to work for the Scott family. After Larry Scott took power and joined the military, the Scott family broke off contact with them. However, it wouldn’t be difficult to reestablish contact…”
Once Dylan finished, he looked over at Ethan.
His eyes were dark and his expression was stormy, as if he was suppressing anger, making it difficult for Dylan to deduce his best friend’s thoughts.
“Ethan, you’re not still harboring old feelings for Lillian, are you?”
Before Dylan had a chance to censor himself, he blurted out his raw thoughts.
Though Ethan had nearly beaten Hannah half to death, Dylan was concerned that his old emotions for her hadn’t faded.
“What on earth is going on in your head…” Ethan shot a glance at Dylan, completely unreadable. “I’m just considering if Bella Scott had any involvement in all of this.”
