Chapter 20
The next morning, after a restless night, Ken found himself facing his first day of training with Siegfried, as promised. He had woken up early, trying to mentally prepare for the grueling exercise he was sure awaited him.
"You’re here," Siegfried greeted him, already standing in the clearing on the outskirts of the academy. The area was surrounded by dense forest, providing an isolated space for their session.
Ken felt a mixture of excitement and nerves. He had no illusions about what was coming—Siegfried had already warned him that there wouldn’t be any special techniques or secret martial arts lessons.
"I can’t teach you any advanced skills," Siegfried said again, making sure Ken understood.
"I know! That’s fine!" Ken replied enthusiastically.@@novelbin@@
Ken wasn’t expecting anything miraculous. All he wanted was to improve his swordsmanship and, perhaps more importantly, lose some weight. In his world, even shedding a few pounds would increase his stats, so this training was more than just physical—it was about leveling up.
"So, what’s on the schedule for today?" Ken asked, eager to see what Siegfried’s training regimen would be like. In the game, Siegfried’s training methods were never fully detailed, leaving Ken curious about how a character like Siegfried had risen to become one of the strongest third-year students.
Siegfried tossed Ken a wooden practice sword. "Here, take this."
Ken caught the wooden sword with some difficulty, wondering if this would be a typical day of swinging it a thousand times or something else.
Siegfried stretched his limbs, his calm demeanor unchanged. "I’m going to count to ten."
"Uh... count to ten?" Ken echoed, confused.
Without further explanation, Siegfried raised his practice sword, pointing it at Ken. His eyes were serious.
"Run."
What do you think?
