Chapter 11
The rain suddenly intensified, as if a hole had opened in the sky, turning the scattered droplets into a downpour that quickly filled the surroundings. Naturally, we were drenched, and without a second thought, we rushed to find shelter.
Since the dormitory was a bit of a distance away, we spotted a shabby shed nearby and hurried inside.@@novelbin@@
“Phew, haha, that came out of nowhere! Right, Mary... ma'am?” I spoke lightly as I shook off the water from my soaked hair.
“……”
Mary, however, didn't respond. Something about her seemed off.
The sound of heavy raindrops hitting the shed's roof echoed, and the sky had darkened, casting shadows inside. Yet, even in the dim light, I could clearly see Mary’s trembling shoulders.
‘…Is she cold?’
“Hold on a moment! I’ll get you something to dry off with and to cover yourself!” I said, trying to reassure her.
“……”
Mary didn’t reply. She just stood there, shivering like a soaked cat, hugging her arms tightly around herself.
I quickly rummaged through my spatial pouch, pulling out a towel and a blanket. This pouch really comes in handy at times like these. I offered the dry towel to Mary.
What do you think?
