Basketball System: Rebound of the Underdog

Lina followed Kai's gaze and saw that Coach Guanyu's gaze had already strayed from their side and was already directing his team. She sighed and turned to Kai once again.

"He's not," she said, causing Kai to frown.

"He was, though," Kai muttered. "He was even looking at us very sharply."

Lina sighed and focused her full attention on the stage.

"Irritated? Of course not!" she said in a fake-happy tone. "Why would I be irritated?"

"Yeah," Kai scratched the back of his neck. "Why would you be irritated when we won? Sorry, you must want to watch the game."

With that, Kai focused his attention on the game once again.

Meanwhile, Lina looked down at her lap before shaking her head. She didn't even know why she was feeling this way!

Kai was right—she should be happy that they had won the game.

However, why did It feel like she had lost in other aspects?

Just then, she realized that she looked straight down onto her lap—with nothing occluding her vision.

At that moment, the scene of the pretty girl hugging Kai a while back replayed in her mind. She could still vividly see her chest touching Kai's biceps. They seemed very cushiony, and it was almost unbelievable how a first-year student would have such anatomy!

"What are you doing?" Lina asked despite feeling breathless.

Kai realized what he had done and quickly let go of her arm. Somehow, Lina missed the warmth of his hand. However, she shook the feeling away.

Lina couldn't help but chuckle as he watched his excited gestures. His eyes couldn't be seen much because of his bangs, but it was obvious in his body language that he was very excited to see Max play.

"Haven't you watched him play before?" Lina asked.

Kai shook his head.

Of course, he had watched the Interhigh Nationals before when he was a first-year student at Huolan High. However, he never got around to watching the Yin Yang Knights since he only went to the games that the Huolan Guardians played in.

It seemed like the Knights hadn't crossed paths with the Guardians yet, so Kai was looking forward to seeing how they would play.

Moreover, since their last game commenced simultaneously with their game with the Daxue Dolphins, Kai wasn't able to watch them once again.
