Chapter 1702: He's Not Interested

For those in the Venerable Planes, the competition ended very quickly. Although there were over a thousand people altogether in the Late stages of the Venerable Plane, not all of them had the strength to battle those of the same cultivation level, and it's a normal occurrence anywhere in the world.

Grey watched the battle and studied their use of the fire element, and to be honest, he was quite impressed with the level of mastery these Elementalists have over their elements. The only reason he's superior to them is due to having gone through so many challenges, that has helped him improve drastically.

From what Grey heard, thirty people from the top hundred have been picked from the Late stage Sovereigns, and Keith was part of these people. He's not at the Peak of the Venerable Plane yet, but in his cultivation stage, no one was able to defeat him. He's an Eighth stage Venerable at the moment, and no one in the Eighth stage was able to defeat him. This is the reason he was ranked among these people.

The Pyro Faction set rules like these to make sure that the most outstanding individual in each cultivation stage will get the opportunity to also benefit from this even though they are not as strong as the strongest genius present.

As soon as those from the Sovereign Plane started to battle, it was easy to see the difference between a Sovereign and a Venerable. The control of attacks, strength of attacks, everything was different. They started from those in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane, and just like before, the best candidate in each cultivation stage is given the chance to cultivate in one of the spots provided in the essence vein. This was what all those from the Pyrmond Faction, and even the Pyro Faction were fighting for, a chance to train there.

There have been people who have been able to train there every single time due to these competitions. The Faction used to work solely on contribution points in the past, but after they shut themselves away from the outside world, there's no way to complete tasks, hence they moved to this method or giving people the chance to train in the essence vein. Of course there's no way everyone would get the chance, that's why they have to train harder for the next competition.

Before long, the top sixty people in the list of hundred has been decided after the Early stages Sovereigns have completed their battles. Now, it was time for those in the Mid stages of the Sovereign Plane. No one from the Pyrmond Faction made it into the list from those in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane, they were all defeated.

Now that it has gotten to those in the Mid stages of the Sovereign Plane, a lot of eyes turned to Grey, curious to see if he would pass up on the chance to get into the essence vein to cultivate.

Grey stayed in his seat, watching the others battle with little to no interest in his eyes. He seemed to sense a gaze different from the rest and he turned his head to look in the direction of the gaze. Far north in the arena, a silhouette could be seen standing by the side of a pillar, just part of the silhouette could be seen, but Grey could already tell it was that of a young lady. He couldn't help but have a feeling of familiarity with this figure, it's as if he had seen this slender body before. It didn't take long before he recalled where he saw her.

'She's the one riding the Dragon.' He thought to himself as he kept his gaze there for some time, before once again turning his attention back to those fighting.

In the far north of the arena.

The figure standing behind the pillar made a little 'Oh' sound and looked away from Grey. The battle for those in the Mid stages has gotten to the peak, and only those in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane are left on the platform to battle each other. Xaden was present, and he has had two dominant victories that has made no one want to fight him again.

The rules are quite odd. Some people get to fight just once the entire time and they can manage to get into the top hundred, while there are others who will have multiple wins and still fail to make the list. The priority is being dominant enough that no one would want to challenge you. The likes of Xaden and a few others were like this. Even the duo of Nathan and Harry who were with Ezekiel and escorted Grey's group here had also put on dominant displays that had certainly cemented their positions there.

One other thing that Grey learned from those around him is that one could challenge anyone on the list that isn't the best of his cultivation stage. Meaning, those who are best in their cultivation stages get a permanent spot, but the other positions can be fought for.

'What's the point of fighting all these battles then?' Grey wondered when he first heard this. That was when he heard that only those who participate in these normal rounds could challenge anyone.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

While Grey was sitting there unbothered, up above where the Faction Leader and Elders were seated, Faction Leader Bertram had almost lost his mind. Grey, his Faction's greatest talent, has refused to participate in this competition. He has shown no interest whatsoever, and knowing Grey, if there isn't anything that'll interest him, there's a hundred percent likelihood that he'll not participate.

The only chance of his Faction making a good impression in the eyes of these people was sitting there and not wanting to fight!

As Faction Leader Bertram watched Grey, he almost couldn't help but give a wry chuckle. Lord Dante noticed this as well and leaned over to Bertram, "Why isn't he fighting?" "He's not interested." Faction Leader Bertram replied with an embarrassed laugh.
