She looked surprised to hear this "An alchemist? You don't look like any alchemist I've ever seen." she said with a doubtful expression as she looked me over. "I am a bit of an exception to the standard rules but it's easy enough to verify that I am indeed an alchemist. Alexander Drake." I said introducing myself with a grin. "So you don't mind if I look you up then to make sure you aren't pulling my leg?" she asked suspicious of trickery. "Quite the opposite in fact I insist, peoples reactions are always so entertaining once they figure out who they are speaking to." I said with a chuckle.-
The woman used her own Poketch to access the net and look me up and it was clear that she found exactly what she was looking for as her eyes widened at what she was reading. "Alchemist, variant specialist, multiple abilities and aura usage? Are you real?" she asked incredulous. "Quite real, like I said I am a bit of an exception to the rules, an anomaly if you would. So are you interested in taking this cleaning solution off my hands?" I asked with a smirk.-
"Can I try it out first before I decide?" she asked cautiously. I opened my bag and retrieved the bottle containing the solution. "About a dash or two in a bucket of water will do, it's highly concentrated." I explained as I handed it over. She looked like she didn't quite believe me but followed my instructions and had a surprised look when the bucket of what did indeed turn into a potent cleaning solution with only that small amount of the concentrate having been added. She carefully cleaned one of the wooden tables with this solution before waiting for it to dry.-
As I promised the table had no residue when it dried and even smelt faintly of oran berries. she went to speak again when the door opened behind me and the little bell rang. "Mary I'm back!" a woman's voice sang out eagerly but the owner of it froze when they saw me. I turned to look at the newcomer and was surprised about what I found. There standing in the doorway was none other than the current champion of the Sinnoh league, Cynthia Shirona. "Come here often I take it?" I asked with a teasing smile.-
She groaned in annoyance upon recognizing me "You've ruined my plans it seems. I had this whole plan to show up coincidentally and wow you with my sophistication but now you've seen this embarrassing side of me and it's ruined." she said sounding annoyed but her aura told me a different story. "You do realize you can't lie to me right?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She pouted at the question before giggling. "Fine you got me, I'm actually a big fan of yours. The way you just sort of burst onto the scene and struck fear in those criminals was so satisfying to see." she said with a smile.-
Her aura confirmed her words as she seemed genuinely excited to meet me along with a bit of lust as well. Minute but certainly not hidden at all. "Oh so you like what you see hmm?" I teased and her face turned red as she looked away embarrassed. "Mo! don't you know it's rude to tease a lady like this?" she demanded with embarrassed anger. "Ah but you make it so easy! Though I must admit that you weren't on the list of people I thought would be interested in me without some real work on my part." I said with a laugh.-
"You have a list?" she asked incredulously.
"Most people have a list of people they find attractive as well as how likely it is that they'd be interested. It's more mental than physical in truth but if you think about it you also must have a list right?" I asked with a chuckle and she paused to think about it before realizing that she did indeed have a list. "Um, about the cleaning solution?" Mary the parlor owner spoke up drawing our attention.-
"Ah sorry for getting distracted like that so what do you think, want the recipe?" I asked with a slight apologetic dip of my head. "Surely you must want something for this right?" she asked a little worried. "Tell you what, give me and her our order for free and it's yours, how's that sound?" I asked and she smiled and nodded eagerly. "Now then ladies first." I said dramatically bowing to let Cynthia order first which made her smile and laugh. Honestly speaking she was an interesting person from what I can tell as she wasn't even half as serious as I expected her to be as the champion but rather relaxed and cheerful.-
It was a breath of fresh air really as even casual folk like Watson and Birch had a certain seriousness to them even outside of work that was there. Cynthia however had either mastered the art of separating her private and professional lives and acted as the situation required or was generally just this cheerful and playful to be around which was contrary to what I read on her. According the the net she was an avid archeologist and if anything sort of a chatterbox about ancient history.-
Yet despite this she was known to be quite serious at her job and even regularly patrolled the region looking for criminals acting up. Seeing her here cheerfully ordering the weirdest combination of icecream flavors I had ever seen I had trouble reconciling the sheer difference from what I read and saw in the games. ' I keep forgetting that these are real people and not NPC's from the games, is it any wonder they're different?' I thought with a sigh. "Any particular reason you ordered that particular combination of flavors?" I asked the gorgeous blonde curiously.-
"I mean there are just so many different flavors and I want to try them all in case I find a new favorite." she said happily as Mary stacked up a big bowl of different icecream flavors clearly used to the champions visits. "Personally I like a nice creamy vanilla with pecans mixed in and topped with Mago berries." I said honestly. She nodded seeming to accept my words easily. Mary apologized however "I'm sorry but I don't have any Mago berries here." she said sincerely. I just chuckled and dug one out of the refrigerated pocket of my bag.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
